Here's a solo I played on a session about a year ago, it was using the strat I used to do my comparison clips when it was loaded with sultans. They've got a bit more top end attack than the Apaches I have now. Anyway, it's through an Analogman King of Tone and a Fender Super Reverb Reissue that I rewired point to point. It's a bit low in the mix, and the slides aren't from me, that's the other session guy.
Recorded in a posh studio using lots of nice gear, but the amp was mic'd with a SM57 at about 6 inch from the centre of the cone.
Keeping this quiet as I've not asked permission....sssshhhh!

Very nice mate!
I must admit I was a litte bit dissappointed because I was expecting the solo from the sultans of swing, must put that tune on now :D

Sure - it was part of an album done by a singer songwriter called Michael Lovelock. Thanks for the comments!

Very nice Gilmour-ish tone.

The first solo I learnt was Mother, so I guess the Gilmourishness is to be expected!
Cheers! :)

That is a good Strat tone. Love Knopfler's tone. If I ever get a strat, I might want some Sultans for it.
