..I realized, as I picked up my Mk V Boogie today(the black one...), that after 20 + years of playing, this is THE FIRST BRAND NEW amp I have ever owned
-instant gratification....I cannot imagine a better CLEAN CHANNEL-I could not dial in a bad tone-yes, there are lots of dials and switches, but it is "amp magic for dummies"....and lots of fun to dick around with-very easy user interface
.....great layout/an excellent amp for anyone in a cover band-I can go from Nashville to LA ,etc in the click of a footswitch-only 2 hours so far, but diggin' the power settings
..damn, whatta clean channel!

Niiiiice, can't wait until they get over here and I can't afford one! The rig looks great :)
-
Very nice, was quite impressed with what ive seen of them, but then when i saw the price tag in this neck of the woods i knew i would never have one.
nice selection of boogies there. what are the other models? II and III?
Ive got one of those halfback boogie cabs that i see at the bottom there. they rule, except for the weight.

NOW BE CAREFUL HOW YOU WRITE THIS RESPONSE AS I MIGHT SELL MY MARK IV, :D
How close does the IIC+ mode actually get to your IIC+
Tone?
Feel?
MOJO?
-
yes..its a 4x12...half back( I closed her up,btw.........)
I will wait until i really have a chance to dial her in...so far, not a C+ in terms of feel....but I AM IN LOVE with channel one...OMG !!!havent a/b'd 3 and C+/////which will happen with the same tubes/cabs/etc.....it is damn close right now, and I will leave it at that right now...this amp puts a smile on your face-verrrrry versatile!!!!!!!!!
-
Alright well after some time let me know! Or just post because i am so in love with my mark IV it has so much mojo ive played other mark IV's , diezels and bogners and this mark iv just is godly, I have a very close bond to it, So im thinking a diezel herbert will cover my mark V gas

YES..THE yOUTUBE GUY IN gERMANY ...that comes close in terms of tone/compression/etc....this one trumps a IV IMo( I owned a Mk IV B for 2 years...the channel 2 is NOOO comparison, and the lead channel has a lot more options(IIC, IV, Extreme)-if you like to weeeeeedleleedeee, the lead channel is right up your alley :)
-
NAD's are great, here's to the first of many :D
-
That looks good to me. Clean channels are very important for me too and I can imagine how good it must be to get a great tone.
-
Awesome... an amp I am going to have a good look at once it's here. Your set up looks fantastic... congrats Boogie man.
-
sweet :)

I can go from Nashville to LA ,etc in the click of a footswitch
That's 1,836 miles FYI. ;)
The question is can you cross the atlantic with it?

..this cat..he has a few posted
..I am addicted to the clean channel, which can be overdriven to hell and back in 10 watt/variac/tweed setting-it is amazing how well it breaks up-really, if you like using the volume knob(and I do..), this setting is addictive-bloomy clean to Texas mean(funny how Boog is thought of by so many as a metal amp...it does the metal, but so much more)
-
Aah! THAT ONE :D! Thanks!
-
Very nice. 8) Sounds very versatile. I love a good clean tone too. What pups give you your favorite clean tone with your new amp?
-
Congrats! NADs are the best!
I do see a small brand preference there.
So now you have the V, still eager to keep the other Marks, or do you think about letting some go?
How are the additional EQ functions, very useable or just redundant gimmicks?
-
so far,I have only played Reb's thru it..it rocks
-yes,Mesa has won me over-i am a Mark series man
-I will keep others no doubt-the V will be a gig monster while the others stay under lock and key
-the eq presets are very flexible -I like it because you can get more out of the 3 channels(use a preset for chan 1/dial in a custom eq on the 5 band for chan 2/preset for 3...)
-the different modes really change the voice of the channel-it would be perfect IMO if you were able to change modes via footswitch, but I dont know how possible that is under the hood...
-its not a clone amp-its got its own mojo , and if you like the Mark series, this is a must have IMO-the extreme setting reminds me of a mix of rectifier and mark-40% REc...60% mark....a great modern tone-
and does it nail the C+?....it passes the blind taste test! I a/b'd yesterday, and it was almost dead on/considering the diff. transformers,tubes,etc..I was pleased at how it copped the lead channel on a C+
-
Congratulations!! A Sha(man) & his Boogies!!
