Title: Old guitar, new look
Post by: Denim n Leather on June 19, 2009, 02:51:48 PM
Swapped the scratchplate out from my Warmoth/Fender strat for a new look:

Thanks to PhilKing for invaluable soldering and alcohol assistance. Sorry, not BKs in this one (yet). Bridge is a Lollar Special. Neck is a Lollar Blackface. Middle is an empty cover.

Controls are just the way PhillyQ and I love em -- Les Paul 3 way switch, no volume or tone pots, no caps or resistors. Just pickups > switch > jack.

My favourite!  :D

That does look mighty stylish, I have to say.

Unfortunately, you can't see the insane flame on the fingerboard and neck in that pic!

all it needs is a big headstock!

is that the one which had the rising sun scratchplate? or a different one?

looks nice, by the way, i can make out a tiny bit of flame around the 12th fret or so, but i'm sure it shows up a lot better in real life...

Yep, formerly Yoshi ... now called Ethel.

I'm keeping the scratchplate in case I need to switch it back.

Best part about Strats is that you can cusomize em so fast!!

yeah, definitely. i liked the old scratchplate, it was cool in an 80s kind of way (which means it's cool full stop/period in my book :D). :)

Oh, I still have the scratchplate, and it will appear again! The CS will not work for this gig tomorrow, tho
Sorry, I hit "Modify" instead of "Quote" (damn moderator buttons lol)!!!!

yeah, i can understand that, if you need a strat tone you need the 3 strat-style single coils (in a strat or similar style of guitar). :)

But how it's done? Does you put a 250K resistor anywhere to simulate the pot???
