... just a quick one... what do you think of their pups, materials etc?!
and: do you/ will you have noiseless SC products?! Kinman-like?!
-
The humbucker that fits into a P90 hole is a pretty neat idea.

?
was that topic related?
anyway.... just out of interest: how long does it take to get a set of crawlers from BKP? I mean... they're handwired n stuff... a month?!
-
my pair of calibrated VHII's took around 5 days I think, thats including the weekend - so nowhere near a month

I've got some Hauessel pickups coming in for rewind so I'll find out what they're like.....Harry has a very good rep on the continent and I'm sure they'll be very well made.
Noiseless single coils.........IMHO a dead duck and pointless. The noise a single coil can pick up is as much part of it's tone as anything.....when you cancel the noise from any kind of single coil(Strat,Tele,P90....)by whatever method you'll also phase cancel crucial frequencies from the tone.Result: doesn't sound anything like a single coil anymore.Try a Kinman,Fender noiseless,Lace or any of the humbucker size single coils....they all sound nothing like a true single coil.Out of the whole bunch Chris Kinman's are the best but I personally find them very flat tonally and really, nothing like a true single coil.If humcancelling or a humbucker tone is the objective it's always best to fit a real humbucker, anything else is compromise. If real single coil tone is the objective it'll never be achieved from a noisless coil......the only way you get a noiseless coil is to humcancel, cancel the hum you cancel the tone!

hm. good point... but how do BKP singles do their job under stage lights or neon lights(like they tend to occur pretty often in small clubs) ?!
Do you do anything specific to eliminate/reduce humming noises?!

I use high gain and under a lighting rig and sometimes dodgy electrics at venues and BK pickups always stay very quiet and controlled.
