Stumbled across this whilst browsing today. Looks interesting to me, and at £349 it could be a gooden.
What do you think, and also has anyone got any info of the specs of it?
-
looks like cheap teisco construction to me - certainly thats what the bridge, pickup, scratchplate and position markers say.
£60-70, maybe £100 for someone with a reason to buy it
-
i had to check to be sure - it is actually a framus

i still wouldnt pay much, £200 would be pushing it a fair bit

I was at Coda on saturday and saw some one playing this. Didn't sound very nice, looked very cheap and shoddy. I wouldn't say it's worth what they're asking for it.
-
only ever tried one framus and that was an old accoustic

Nice listing pointy thing

Framus made some horrible necks back then, some kind of maple plywood(like 2mm layers of wood glued together). Very bad feel to it if you ask me, not even mentioning the LOOK :(.
ADD:
Check out the headstock pic here for those necks.....

Fair enough!
Cheers for the info.

The 'pointy thing' is priced about right being from the D-Tox line by the looks of things.
It might still be an adequate guitar but it lacks the features of its bigger brothers.

I've got an old superstrat with a laminated neck like that. Obviously it's a cheap way of using scr@ps, and the neck is as much glue as wood, which must affect the tone somewhat. But it had really good sustain and no dead spots! :)

A friend of mine has an acoustic (i think it's a Martin, wasn't a cheap one, i think he said it was about £800 perhaps) that has this neck construction, sounds pretty good, and i quite like the look too!

That pointy thing is actually a chaos 2 ( i used to have a blue one) they were the bottom of the range maverick guitars, iirc they were rrp'ed around £299 the bodys and necks were very good as were the pickups which actually are excellent for the price (same as the x1) but were let down by a very cheap trem and hardware and rubbish pots. a very good guitar for the cash tho.
