Can not wait to hear the sound of this thing! Should I keep the mid boost package that came in the guitar of ripit out?
Thanks

keep it
I always boost my mids with an EQ before the amp

if you are talking about the jackson J-1200 Active electronics mid boost circuit, well you can throw it away.
The guitar is great by itself and doesn't need that thing (I had a bad experience with that with my jackson Rhoads (93 era) which came with that feature as standard.
Let's add that the Nailbomb doesn't lack mids.
if you need a boost for your lead parts, a stompbox will be better.
and welcome to bare knuckle forum ! :good:

A different opinion, but the boost circuit in my Charvel Mod 6 is a J-1200 and it gives quite a nice range of boost in my opinion.
Jackson made 3 active circuits, each doing something a bit different. Google for the J-1500, J-1000 and the J-1200
To help you out here's the manual page for the J-1200 - http://audiozone.dk/cm/displayimage.php?album=66&pos=5, tell Henrik I say hello! ;)

Thanks guys for the feedback! I have the J-1200 mid boost. I am not sure which way to go as I do not want anything taking away from the pickup output or tone.

I think you answered you question by yourself
I do not want anything taking away from the pickup output or tone.
the interesting link from shobet explains that the JE-1200 adds on the mids lows of your tone....
Maybe it works with the jackson stock pups like the J-80...but as for me I really had a dislilke on that active electronics circuit (and also some issues with it).
But at the end, do you like your JE-1200 ?
Maybe you could decide whether to keep it or not when you'll see what's the result with a NB on your guitar. :D

To be honest, the mid boost is only so so with the stock pup now. Yes it makes it a bit thicker, but not an earth shattering difference in tone.
