I want one of those guitars!! They seem to be going for just under a grand here in the US, too!
-
what are the odds that the champ is about £1000?
-
Its going for between £750 and £850 - obviously Fender haven't heard of the international global economic crisis (well, actually they have because they have been sacking people left right and centre and their Corona plant).
Still Shane's demo clip sounds super cool:

little champ looks nice..would like to try
-
Loving the first one with the Black Doves ... I do love my Baja but it is quite yellow ... the deep red colour looks far superior! Had managed to keep the foot off the GAS for 12 months or so now ...

Oh yes, love the LP pickup selector position too.
-
LP style switch and SG style knobs on a tele... weird!

yeah, sounds good, i just mean you could get the exact same thing (actually, probably with higher-quality/more accurate parts and more attention to detail  ) from an amp builder here for a lot less cash... :)
-
most defiante..think amp builder is doing a champ now

The Victoria version costs £909 at Charlie Chandlers - so an equivalent is not cheaper.
Looking at the pic of the chassis it looks like it is turret board and that they are using a hybrid of authentic and modern parts (and a yuccky IC cap - those thing break down sooo fast! - Xicons or Nichicons all the way!).
Difficulty for Fender as opposed to custom builders is that they have to produce a product that complies with all International coventions on electrical compliance in order to sell their stuff worldwide - and a alot of 'authentic' guitar electronics theories spouted by 'booteek' experts is all hoodoo bollocks anyway (like those who put carbon comp resistors in TS9's for 'brown' sound - its brown because its all a pile of shite).
But I can't help thinking that Fender could have got the excellent guys at their Mexico factory to build it for the price of a Blues Junior - I think that would have made more sense for something as simple as a Champ (although given the often irrational gear snobbery common on the BKP boards, we would probably be discussing that instead!)
-
Oooh, I like all three of those new Teles!
Damn you Fender for making me want to spend money!!

Actually, whilst we are undoubtedly a bunch of tone snobs on here, I've never noticed any snobbery about where a product is built.
In general I think this forum tends to take products as they come, with many forum members owning and playing (+ being proud of) lots of far-eastern gear.

Totally, if they could do a hybrid of the first two, P90s with a trem, then i would more or less be sold!
-
I like the 'Black Dove' Tele.
The others?........The only vibrato that can be allowed on a Tele is a Bigsby.
-
Got to say these look more than a little bit intresing. Would be very intrested to try a left handed tele with a trem arm.

that's another american company, though. I'm sure martin or any other of a number of UK-based amp makers could knock you up a champ for a lot less than that.

yeah, that's a good point.
