How do you guys get your guitars about from place to place (not including when they're strapped on..!)?
Is it hard cases all the way, or are there decent soft cases that do as good a job?
Mark.

For me I perfer hard cases. I perfer Hiscox cases to Gator slightly. I have had a couple of soft cases and while they have not been too bad I just like the extra security of a hard case.
My SG was in a gator case in the boot of the car when a car went into the back and wrote the car off. Gator case got a crack on the bottom but the guitar was undamaged. I cannot imagine that it would have escaped unscathed in a soft case.

I usually favour hard cases, but to be fair if I am travelling by public transport I like a decent gigbag
The high end Warwick gigbags are good as are the new Fusion range

Hard cases for me but nothing elaborate. I have the standard Fender cases so they are unlikely to withstand any serious stress.
-
Standard cases for my PRS-s, Gator hard case for the other guitar that goes out regularly. I only use gig bags to store them at home really, or a quick trip to a mates.

I'm happy putting Fenders in gig bags, but Gibsons for me have to go in hard cases.
-
I use gig bags all the time as hard cases take up way too much room in the car that needs to be filled with amps & other band members too.
-
At times, you'd need both. Like the BKP meet.
I had, at one point, a hardcase in each hand and a soft gigbag.
I kind of only like hardcases strangely enough because they're rectangular. I don't like the shape of gigbags but if I had to use one then I'd use one.

+1 on that.

Gig bags for guitars. All my hard cases are in storage. Still need a case for my amp head! Pedaltrain has its own case. ATA case for all misc cables/hardware.

I use hard cases for my guitars when I'm going to band rehearsals or playing gigs. Although when I take a guitar on a plane I always take it in a gig bag as they don't let you take hard cases onto the plane, you have to put it in the hold, and I feel more comfortable if I have my guitar on the plane with me.

Gig bags, sold my hard cases.
I use my own car but I guess tour busses / planes etc and it would be back to hard cases.
Tip for gig bags, Kluson splid head tuners tidy the sharp end of the string away which stops the gig bag getting shredded at the headstock!

Hard cases all the way, I don't want my little beauties getting hurt
