Are the black covers just like nickel ones painted black? if so , when you burned them, would you be able to get the same blue effect peaking thru the black? i guess that the paint would probably just melt and bubble and smell bad and make a mess, lol. Might be worth a try though!

The Black is powder coated over raw nickel... Covers must be chrome plated to change colour with heat. Black covers would just set on fire.

lol - right... probably best not to even go there  :P

There's something very rock n' roll about having burning pickups in your guitar. :D
-
indeed there is! lol. might need to wear some quality gloves while playing though!
If you had a plain wood guitar, and yu set the pups on fire, and yu held it with them burning for a while, and then changed them, leaving the burn marks on the bare wood of the guitar- that would look awesome!

That would look cool, wouldn't it. After the burning you could install a set of burnt chrome pickups. :)

hehehe - and we've just formulated a plan for my project guitar  that was easy!

Cheesy caprion for the idea: These pickups are hot!
-
Caprion? thats not a word- but that's what the guitar's gonna be called!
