Title: I've finally got a gig at the O2 Academy in Newcastle
Post by: psy on July 03, 2009, 04:57:09 PM
I'm so excited.   :D  My band has been on the email list for support slots at the Academy for well over a year now & yesterday we finally got booked to play.

We're supporting Canadian synthrock band The Birthday Massacre.  Just wanted to share because I'm really chuffed.   :D

Yeah, at practise last night you could tell everyone was excited about the gig.  Everything seemed to have that bit extra umph to it.

HTH it's in the Academy 2.  Not quite hit the really big time yet LOL  Oh, if anyone fancies it we have a half price guest list for it (£4)

We've just been offered a spot at the Islington O2. Are these gigs worth doing, and does anyone know if the venue is any good??

The Birthday Massacre are very popular in the goth scene & it's been ages since they've been in the UK so I'd expect the turn out to be pretty good at the shows.  I don't know what the Islington one is like, but the Newcastle one is an old dance hall & is quite nice.
