Wow all that for one fingered drop D power chords. What a choad.

Well, where for others tone is in the fingers, for them tone is in the finger :O)

Does that mean they're better than all of us then? If they have so much tone in one finger imagine what would happen if they tuned to standard and had to use 4 fingers for a barre chord? Music as we know it might end!

That an molest amount of gear right there. Interesting to see that a lot of it is 'off the shelf' rather than custom/boutique/vintage like a lot of other players gear.
We all take the piss out of one fingered power chord bands (which worries me cos my band plays solely in drop D) but he has sold a million records from the songs the band has wrote. This means he is probably sat on a hot beach right not getting a BJ. Cnut.
Besides, doesn't Leslie West only use two fingers? I'm sure I read an interview on t'interweb where he states that he does.

i'm feeling a bit sick now...

I play many 1 finger chords in my metal band too :O)
Those are Egnater Preamps, not Randall. The modules and power amps are Randall though.
-
Still it's just really high end stuff surely, much like using a Mesa pre-amp or something, rather than Boutique.

I think Johnathon has more modules than that now!
haha! :D
-
I'd replace the lot with an axe-fx, would save a lot on labour costs of roadies, although being in linkin pie he's probably got financial security for life
-
I like linkin park. How many of you have actually listened to the knew stuff...I mean since meteora.
They aren't a guitar based band really.
All that gear does seem unnecessary though.

He certainly used to, just his first and third fingers. He may have branched out a bit now though!

I wouldn't know where to start with that lot. As far as I'm concerned, just gimmie a 2 or 3 channel, 50+ watt head and a speaker cab, and we're good to go. But then, I don't play stadiums with my chart-topping band...

I was just going to say that!!
He's got racks in every room now.. It is very cool.
-
Yeah - Linkin Park are lightweights in the gear department (kidding)
The Linkin Park racks were put together by Dave Friedman at Rack Systems Inc in Hollywood
I do have a few bits of Egnater and have only nice things to say about them
It's amp modelling done right IMO - real circuits with tubes - different modules wired up to give tones of classic amps
Works great in the workshop
Here is producer Michael Wagener with his rack

The vast majority of constantly world touring bands use common, easily obtainable gear. Replacing a stock TS9 that's gone missing in your luggage is easier than replacing a Lovepedal, y'know?

I can't wait for my new module now!!!

With the amount of cash that goes into a Linkin Park show, I should think Mr Delson probably has two of everything, boutique or not.

What's it gonna be, the famous GnR?
-
I so want one of the GNR modules - similar to the SL2 but with a grittier midrange
Adam is getting Antonin Salva in Czech Republic (Salvation Mods) to modify a Randall module for him, but (shame on me) I cant remember which one
I want a Custom 3 (Custom Audio Preamp CAE3+SE) or a revised XTC/Shiva module myself

And two can break down, and three can break down, and so on. Certainly, easy to replace is the reason most give if asked.

I'm not doubting that he probably uses completely boutique fx/guitars/amps in the studio but it could be that rather than ease of use, he does prefer the tone. Dimebag didn't use Randall SS heads because they are easily obtainable did he?

That's right! I'm getting a Salvation Mods Benzin (i think it's going to be called that anyway), which is a Diezel VH4, channel 3 and 4, with a bright switch and noise gate :D
Antonin originally said 4 weeks, but seeing as Salvation has got so popular, it's looking at about 8 weeks. I'm in no rush though.
I would also like the Custom 3!
