I built this about 8 years ago
Killer guitar
I guess it kind of does what a PRS McCarty should do - sounds a bit more like an LP than a Prs
Somebody here I'm sure would love it

Nice - sure that you'll get a lot on interest from forum members
-
this guitar looks great,
a shame its only available for uk :(
but good for one fact at least, that helps to stop my GAS
-
That looks damnably cute Jonathan ...
What I want to know is - how come, when actual PRSs leave me, well, not cold, but "lukewarm" at the most... for some reason, pictures/description of a similar beast from you had me going there for a moment...
Luckily, common sense prevailed, and it's not for me and my wallet right at the moment - but it would be great if someone on here gets it :D
-
Yeah - I have to restrain myself from wanting to buy it back myself as I recall how good it played and sounded back then , but it would be great if a BKP forumite gets it.
-
Poor twinfan!
He's trying to selling his guitars you know! Don't tempt the man with these lustful guitar pics!
-
No use to me - it's got a trem! Also, the neck pickup isn't positioned right up against the bottom of the 22nd fret where I like it.
Nice guitar though, especially if you swapped the tone pot and toggle switch positions.....

I reckon it took a few years to come up with those reasons, or else you'd be hiding behind guitar cases in every room of where you live.
EDIT: And wow, to sell a Feline cause he has too many guitars. The remainder must be REALLY good guitars!
-
I was trying to keep that one quietly being watched in my ebay. :(
now the price will jump up
You have let the cat out of the bag! (pun intended)
-
Flame top/Burst. GAS avoided.
If it was natural/flat colour, I'd likely have been bidding. But it's ok, that means my "When the ideal SG comes along" fund is safe.

Hmmm. I gotta get me one of those.
Pretty tasty PRS style though!

Tempted I have to say, especially after the Tabby, but that slightly puts me off, we've got 2 kick ass LP's already, but it's tempting...
What trem is that Johnathan?

The tremolo is a Wilkinson , the nut is Graphtech and Sperzel tuners assist with keeping it in tune
To be fair it's not A LP clone , just a bit thicker than a regular PRS , has a 3 piece neck and an ebony board, and it makes good crunchy hard rock noises.
Cant recall if it had a coiltap , but easily fitted and a versatile guitar.

I noticed that too. Any special reason for the slightly-extended fretboard, Jon? Is it something to do with the neck/body joint?

Ooh - long time ago
We may have been trying to keep the neck pickup from sounding too woolly, and/or keep as much wood glued into the body as possible to stiffen the neck joint but without having a long heel area coming out of the body like PRS do these days.
Sounded wicked as I recall anyway

I think I did a sex-wee
That looks like an amazing guitar - you should do a goldtop one Jonathan.
-
and it makes good crunchy hard rock noises.
That's not doing anything to decrease my GAS!

I like these features, I wouldn't mind the heel on my McCarty being a little smaller. I'm used to it however.
This guitar is sort of like the McCarty trem (which the new David Grissom PRS essentially is).
Hopefully someone from this forum grabs the guitar, it looks (and most probably sounds too) killer!

I am tempted to bid but I wouldn't want to bid against a forum"bro" ( or whatever the expression is).

Ditto.
-
So either tell each other your ebay IDs or else risk missing a bargain to an outsider
-
It's a private auction so I don't think you can see.
I wasn't planning any big purchases anytime soon so I'm not quite in the right financial state to go mental in the bidding wars.
Don't let my interest hold anyone back

But you don't want to both miss out! You can be too gentlemanly, guys! :)
-
Well I am one of those who only bids at the last minute anyway but you guys are right, if any of us are bidding then lets PM each other and perhaps work something out.
-
Well it's gone
I wonder who got that?
-
wow, £630 is all it went for - bargain!!! (for someone).
I wish I'd had that kind of money hanging around, I'd have been bidding for sure.

Mmwhaharr!!!
-
Well done! :D
-
sweet :)
-
Icant quite put my finger on the reason, but it looks more like a Patrick Eggle Vienna than a PRS to me.
-
Nice score Matt :)
Now bring it round here so I can check it out ;)
-
Well done Matt
What a bargain!
Now you have 2 Felines
I'm pleased one of the Forum guys got it.
-

Will do mate.
It's going back to it's dad's house for a once over next week before making the full journey to it's new home
-
Just looked at my last post
What's up with my grammar today :)
-
Glad to see a forum member has it and that it will be appreciated. I didn't bid in the end because I realised that I was not going to be in at the end of the auction anyway and I certainly didn't want to be responsible for someone here paying more. Congratulations.
-
I was half joking Matt, but I wouldn't mind checking it out at some point :D
-
Gratz Matt!
-
Nice one :D
-

What a bargin, well done Matt 8)

Yup, and the control layout.
-
You picked this up yet Matt? Any review in the works? ;)
-
I had it sent to Jonathan at Feline to check it out and do some stuff with it.
It's arrived and is in great nick by all accounts.
*Jonathan good to catch up if you're reading*
Will be a week or so until I get it.
Trying not to think about it
The worst kind of GAS!
-
Good stuff!
-
yes - sounds great , and have fitted coiltap push/pull already which works really well
will give it a fretdress and then do some new photos and ship her off to you
-
Nice guitfiddle!
-
saw it in person and was very impressed. an absolute work of art this guitar.
-
Done some pics now - so will be shipping her off soon

-
thought I'd bring this back to life.
I've had this guitar for a week or so now.
I've got all I need in these 2 really.
Life is good
-
So what pickups did you go for in the Lion to make this pair so versatile?
-
Nice couple there :D
-
C'mon Matt - what have you put in the Lion now?
-
I've been bad and gone to another manufacturer.
I was chatting to someone at the Manchester guitar show and got him to make me something that would split well and have a bit more power than the Mules, but also suit a Les Paul with an ebony board.
Probably not the right place to go in to the details of the brand!
-
I can guess ;)
-
rhythm in jump. dancing close to you?
-

thankfully not that sort of manufacturer

Change in circumstance.
Now open to offers

If it didn't have a trem, and (possibly more significantly) if I hadn't just bought another guitar , I'd be all over you for that one I think... sorry I can't help more than that...
Congrats on "reason 2" though :D
-
Sorry to trespass on your advert, but I've not been posting enough to be able to place an advert but sadly I've decided to sell my sunburst Feline Tabby. See here: http://www.felineguitars.com/spec_sheets/Sunburst%20F%20Hole%20Tabbby.htm
I've just never been able to bond with tele's and I've tried three times. I cannot understand why it doesn't work... for God's sake my main guitar is a Jazzmaster, so I'm clearly built wrong. I would love this fantastic guitar to go to someone who would appreciate it as it is, I think, probably the best made guitar I've ever owned and in 30 years I've owned a few.
PM me if you want more info. I'm not keen to lose much money on such a great guitar, so I'm not going to give it away, so looking for about £650 inc carriage. I'm up for interesting trades but I tend to like more traditional shapes... but I'd be very interested in swapping for another Feline!
