Here is the clip.....In a (HSS)strat DLX btw....what yall think????

I wanted a nailbomb or a warpig....but this is what I ended up with....and I like....proving to be very versatile so far!!!

Good stuff man.
VHIIs are great, they can do anything from twang to thrash. Any plans to get some BKP single coils in that Strat?
If you like the VHII I think you'd like the Nailbomb too. IMO it's the VHIIs more aggressive brother, higher output, tighter and with a touch more attitude but still versatile.
-
Yeah I was thinking of the Apache's for the single coils.....or mothers milk maybe....which give a more tex mex sound?????? And thanks for the response!!! :)
-
what rig did you use for recordings? not the sound i expected at all! (very good though!)
-
L6 TonePort UX2(with Pod Farm), ProTools 7.4, EZ Drummer "Drumz from Hell" and as I stated my Strat DLX HSS with VH II....Thanks for response!!! :D

Didn't Tim tell you once that the Emerald was like a bigger, fatter VHII? I've always wondered if it would work in a Strat.

That's right, well remembered!
I wonder if anyone around here has tried one in a Strat? I imagine it could be a very nice combination.

I remembered it because it's the only time I've heard a description of the Emerald that gave me some idea of what it might sound like compared with other models!
I've got a few swamp ash Strat/Tele type things "in progress". One's definitely going to have a VHII/IT/IT set, another will have a minibucker in the neck and a full size HB in the bridge - I wonder if the Emerald would work?

I'd say Irish Tours, but don't take my word for it! See AndyR's comments towards the bottom of this thread:

I sure dig that guitar tone. Nice playing as well.
How do you record the drum tracks? With a MIDI keyboard or...?

ATM I am just point and clicking lol.....or I use MIDI files included with EZ Drummer and rearrange to my likings....not very user friendly....but it works hehe!!!
Thanks for the response... :)

Gotta give you props for producing a really great tone using amp simulation. Are you using the stock cabinet simulator in POD Farm or are you using impulse responses?
-
I have used Impulses before...but not here...this is all stock Line 6 gear. While Amp sims will never be as good as the real tube amps....I think most people don't realize how hard it is to translate that great real Amp sound to your recordings!!! It's much quicker and easier IMHO to get a decent sound out of a amp sim than to try and mic a amp and cab to get that great sound.....it is very much worth the time and effort ....but for just your everyday jamming guy like my self....the amp sim is the way to go hehe!!!
Thanks for your comment man! ;)
