Talking purely aesthetics here, but if you could have an amp built what would you go for? Orange tolex? Black Face plate, chicken knobs?
Something different or a Marshall clone?
Am currently tried to decide, kind of want something a bit different, but not weird!
Its actually more difficult than i thought :?
-
Black control plate, black dome knobs w/ white dots, clear plexiglass front panel, white tolex, black corners and handles.
I spend FAR too much time thinking about this sort of thing.
-
1960 Fender Brown Styling - rough brown tolex, oxblood grill, brown circular knobs
-
red with white faceplate, plenty of chrome and black chickenheads to finish it off and a nice biscuit grill cloth for the speaker cab
but i already have all that sorted !
-
i have two visions,
one is all shiny chrome with knurled chrome knobs and real snakeskin covering.
the other is all brushed aluminium with black leather covering.
mmmmm :)

Here's what I did choose 8)
I'm well overdue for another amp though!

This is pretty much EXACTLY what i want!
With some sort of glowing LEDs like the H&K amps!

Personally, I think almost all amps out there look 'funny'. There's something very old-fashioned about the look. While Diezels are a bit more forward-looking than most of the other brands, there's still something that I find very underwhelming about the look of all amps.
I haven't yet decided what I dislike/like in particular, or indeed what a suitable alternative look would be, but needless to say, were I to do so, no-one else would like it and it would be a waste of my effort!

I like the idea of a white head, but the reality would be that after a few months of gigging and being shunted around in my car it probably wouldn't look so nice!
I'm kind of thinking maybe a dark/maroon type red colour with a black face plate - i don't like chicken knobs though, which seems to bring the options down a bit.
-
I don't tend to like the Marshall gold faceplate if it has too many knobs. Black is ok if you are putting a lot in there, leaves it feeling a bit more spacey
-
I always fancied trying to build a combo or cab out of granite, just to see the effect on the sound. Wouldn't want to gig with it though.

Yeah, it's a nice idea in theory but unless you're in a position to flightcase the thing it's probably not going to end well.

It relics easy and looks even better for it :P

need piping now and different knobs

I'm with Lew... white heads and cabs rock! In saying that, I used to have a Fender Prosonic combo in light green lizard which was awesome... sort of surf green.
-
Prosonic in green lizard ...nice
-
I'm a sucker for red tolexed amps - would probably go with a black faceplate or maybe gold brushed-aluminium.
I also like the look of Trainwreck amps - those bare-wood cabs with figured woods look NICE :D
-
Not very Surprising, no love for the grey russian industrial carpet as a covering like on my amp :?
think its time to recover it, need to find the leftover red snakeskin from my 5150 or get some nice red tolex from somewhere. Gotta be red, cant have a erd bear in any other colour.

I'm definately edging towards Red, especially considering i already have three black heads.
Maybe a wine red head, with a black faceplate and matching Red Knobs? or is that a bit too different!

I love the look of this ÷13 amp,
