I'm always paranoid about things so indulge me...
After removing from a guitar, what is the best way to clean an old open coil pick full of dead skin cells/sweat and playing muck?
Should I just give it a top wipe with a damp cloth and shut the f**k up? :? :(

Yes!

try toothbrush to clean the dirt from the screws and around the poles. you can dampen the brush with a bit of string cleaner or wd40. i would recommend wd40 as it will protect the metal from sweat in the future and prevent corrosion.

Yes!
Thanks Dave... :(

A microfibre cloth, the type for cleaning spectacles, works well.

send it to me.

I made the mistake of brushing them with a wire brush (purchased from halfords three pack) I used the one that was plastic and it made scratch marks on the pickup. So I went crazy and scratched the the whole surface along the length of the pickup so it dint just look like some random scratch's.

send it to me.
Great idea!
Will do..... PDT_008

Thanks guys for taking the time to clarify this for me...
I was slightly confused and mildly neurotic but all is clear now...
A) I should "shut the f**k up"
B) Wipe the pickup with a damp cloth
C) Send it to Davey
Cool!
You guys..... what would I do without you... PDT_036 PDT_031 PDT_003
