Just wandering how these compare? I have the BG's and am not considering changing them because ther are great. I'm just wandering how they are different tonally, may get another tele you see

The Country Boys are lower in output with a very pure and clean tone, typical of Alnico III magnets. they do dirty up really well which always surprises players as the assumption is that they're for clean country pickers only which is not the case. They're definitely the cleanest Tele coils we make and are voiced as such rather than to replicate any particular era.
By comparison the Flat 50s are much fatter and drive the amp harder, they'll still clean up nicely though and they do have that signature early '50s Tele tone.

I loved when I had my Country Boy set, the clean tone was fantastic. Like Tim said, I was blown away by the sound when dirt was added, managed to sound huge as hell when used with a 4 way switch. Had to sell them and the guitar, but they are top of my list when I put together my much coveted thinline tele...
