Title: Which pots for an Epi LP?
Post by: Brow on October 31, 2005, 03:17:01 PM
Hey guys.

What sort of pots do I need to replace those in an Epi LP100? I'm fixing up a guitar for a local school, and am re-wiring the whole thing because it doesn't work :)

I know I need 500k pots, but do I need long or short shaft? Split or solid shaft?

Thanx for any replies.

Craig

you'll need the long shaft if there is a metal plate in the control cavity, underneath the top of the guitar. If the plate is there, you'll need long shaft, but it varies from guitar to guitar apparently.

Thats all I know  :?

I'm in the same boat as I need to rewire/upgrade all the pots in my Epi Les Paul Custom.

There is NO METAL PLATE in my control cavity - so I assume that metric short shaft CTS pots would be correct.

I would love some confirmation of this and then I'll get the parts ordered.

I've been burnt buying a short shaft imperial 3 way switch before so I don't want to take chances.

Yep, it's an Epi so you'll need the short split shaft pots.
