I seem to be developing into a bit of a comic book geek, mainly thanks to discovering Alan Moores work a few years ago. Now thanks to noticing my fiancee reading Graham Linehans post on twitter (tweats??) i picked up some copies of The Goon, which I have really enjoyed.
so much so that i needed some on my walls:

when i got a tattoo a month back the guy in before me got swamp thing tattoo on the back of his hand.

What i really like is a swamp thing/greenman idea. I need to see if i can get it to work without looking cheesy but i have an idea for my upper left arm. right arms already taken by some flowery arty stuff

wez, if you can get looking at some of the Swamp Thing stuff from soon after Alan Moore left and Rick Veitch was writing it, there was a lot of stuff about the parliament of trees and previous plant elementals. one was a medieval englishman and he was known as something like Jack in the Rushes or Jack in the Fen. might be of some interest to you if you're looking that kind of tattoo

its gonna be a hellhound with robert johnson lyrics round it. funnily enough, from hellhound on my trail.
swamp thing tattoo would rule.

as it is the image wouldnt make a good tattoo, not for me anyway as i like things that can be seen from across the room!! but the layout is good and i want to see if i can develop it into something simpler, bolder and more like the actual comic illustrations

and i think my arm came to about £400 in the end, although that was done in stages and may not yet be finished, i am happy with it for now but keep getting other ideas to develop it - so i have decided to leave it alone for a year or two first. apologies for the washed out photo

thought id show off mine.
only had the spare money to get into thise recently. and my mum passed away from cancer in May, so i though this would be a good first tattoo. now im hooked. no plans for any themes. just ideas for single tattoos.
adding to this arm on monday. i want a harmonica at some point in addition to what i mentioned before.

Good god, I just see all kinds of dog on man Tikki time sex going on there... Like an animated Rorschach test (no, not that one Watchmen fans). :? :?

the canvas image is taken from The Goon volume 1 - nothin but misery... I know not everyone will appreciate comics but the goon is worth a look. - its just such good fun

Cool! Seems like it's called "The Goon" too in the portuguese version, but only a special edition was released here (information found on inthernet, not 100% trustable)

i think they are doing a CGI film of it, fincher had the rights and it seems he is actually going ahead with this one as a producer rather than just sitting on it like he has a tendency to do

I hadn't heard of The Goon until I watched the film of The Mist a few weeks ago. Apparently Frank Darabont is a fan, so he has a character pick up a copy. :)
I like the canvas. It would be nice to own some cool artwork, but I'm too lazy to get it framed and hang it up.

well i'm lovin it, partly because its huge and just completely awesome. i know this art deco moody woman stuff doesnt appeal to eveyone but i really do like it... its like she is playing that mando in anger. then i look back at the original and realise its a bloody good copy. i knew he liked lepinka before asking him to do it - but it really couldnt be better
those brazil nuts are life size

I like it, as well as The Goon artwork too. I would love to own some canvas art. I will probably get some done once I have moved into my new place next year, I would just need to think about what I would like to get.
