it is plywood.  if you look at some of the other colour choices they actually look quite tasty, i really like the black and white one.  still plywood though

Yeah, I was going to ask if it was edible!

It's OK, I don't hate it.  Certainly doesn't fill me with GAS, though (last night's veg curry has done that...).

Coming soon to a Cream Tribute band near you.

I like it for the sixties vibe, though I doubt the body would be very resonant with all those perpendicular grains competing against each other.

I shudder to think the price that they have put on that lump of plywood.

My Bronze series Mockingbird is plywood, cost me £120 second hand. They'll probably put some ridiculous tag on this though.  :(

Awful, awful, awful. They've d!cked around with the SG, Explorer and V* so far and I'm now waiting for a reverse 335 finished in Raspberry Ripple (with an explorer headstock of course).

*There may be more that I have forgotten about.

possibly,  the chances of me using ply are slim to none so it would have to be paint

worth having a look at the other colours

i also like the way the try and sell the bad points of ply as if they were features, like the weight for instance

In a way, I almost admire Gibson for producing this guitar.

No-one else would have come up with this concept.  They are totally $%&#ing mental.

I don't actually mind the black one.  Would want a neck made out of real wood though.

dano's are a law unto themselves, its a pine frame topped front and back with masonite (hardboard).  a lot of the distinctive sound comes from the pickups.

I keep thinking about doing a classy dano with near identical construction but proper woods

Wouldn't be a Dano if it wasn't made of kicthcen fitters off cuts.

Got no issue with the ply neck, just think that they're uggly buggly.

Also Wez, decided to let the Firebird go to a good home.  Want it?  Drop me a PM if you do.

I'll trade it for two TOM post studs if you have any.  The one's which sit flush with the body.  That's a good deal

I'm not going to do anything with it for some time and I'd like it to go to a good home where it may be put back to something reflecting it's former glory.  I'll chuck in the (cheap) mini HB's too, call it a wedding present.

Just remeber me when I need some help with an off the wall future project   :D
