Hi Guys,
Was looking for a cheap guitar I could throw some BKP Pig90's into. Has anyone tried the one i linked?

not tried it, but ive heard varying things about the PRS SE's...some seem to be good, some seem to be bad. Like I say though, its only what i've heard
However, I'd definitely be interested to hear what they are like, I wanna get some P90's! If its not something like the SE's I'll maybe get one of the Jap Jag reissues.

Hello all...I have a PRS with the P-90's, not an SE, and I love the guitar. It has tremendous punch and clarity to go along with the warmth. I have over 30 high end guitars and am really impressed with the P-90. :)

Gibson LP juniors are also pretty good sounding with P-90s, but I'd play a few before settling on one.

and check out the £500 Gibson LP doublecut specials - I had a go with one and was nicely impressed (it even felt good in the shop)

Them's be the ones I mean! They're pretty ace for the cash when you get the right one. Plus the re-sale on Gibson P-90s is probably going to go quite a way to getting some BKPs

I used to have an SE Soapbar, and what a great guitar! Wish I hadn't sold it now. :(
Sound-wise it's quite modern and bright, that could be down to the pickups or the strings (stainless as standard), more than likely, both. If I had kept it longer (needed a clear out of gear - no room and GAS had struck again!), it would most certainly have got a set of BKP-90's thrown in there.
Play-ability wise, it felt like an SG. Small & light, with the PRS "wide/fat" neck profile. It certainly filled the palm, but felt great too. Really playable. Build quality was fantastic.
I know that if I were on the lookout for a single coil loaded guitar, I'd have another, no question about it at all, although I certainly would put some "normal" nickel wound strings on, and put a set of BKP's in. :D

One quick point about the pig-90. The junior dog eared one is a metal cover and is designed for arch top guitars. I did a little bit of routing and also flattened the ears on the pickup to get it into my Junior.

Thanks for all the info guys!!!!
I will look around to see if one of the guitar shops I go to have one to play. It seems like a good deal for the price. And with some BKP's it could be a GREAT deal.
