OK, that's it. I'm giving up. Nice Teles, but watch or forward until the demo kicks in....

He is good isn't he!
-
Cracking! And only 17...
-
"How old are you?"
"17"
17 - holy cow :o. Lovely guitars, I do like that rockabilly sound. The only thing I would change is that headstock logo. Just being picky though.

Apparently the kid's very well known and a member of the telecaster forum :)
He's got great style, very Danny Gatton, he even looks a bit like Gatton 8)
I started hybrid picking about 2 years ago and Travis picking about 1 years ago, and I'm still rubbish at both... but improving
For anyone interested in the Mystery Train lick,
James Burton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cH5RGirn0k) (I own a 'Super 60' similar to the one used in this clip)
Danny Gatton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zhulCDYBCQ&feature=related) (starts about 2:00, the double-pick version he does at 4:15 is way cool)
Brian Setzer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggN-HKq3FG8) (Playing a baritone TV Jones Spectra-Sonic)

Cheers Ken - James Burton is one of my tele heroes. I've seen him play a few times and, even at the age he was, he most defintiely still had it.
Also, just checked out the Hahn website. No prices or ordering info (I can't see any) suggest to me that they are very expensive!
-
Cool stuff.
The guitars sound and look good. Great player.
I'll finish my round here and rip some rockabilly licks on my CV Esquire. 8) :D

For me, James Burton is the very definition of guitar legend 8)
You can read a round up of some handmade tele-style guitar (and the starting price, including Hahn) below,

I think I'm getting old, I find that more impressive than shredding these days...
-
That kid is badass... I feel old and rubbish right now. :(
-
very nice playing, definitely.
-
Ouch. I've been playing the guitar for more years than he's been alive and I suck. How is that fair? I'm going to set up a Google alert for "Carl Bradychok" so if the album he mentions on the TV Jones video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=766WVkUn-uE) comes out I'll hear about it. Looks like there's already an album he did when he was 13. Extra ouch.

Wow, not just the player but I actually really liked the style too, that amp sound and whatever kind of delay that was were perfect. I surprised myself, think I need to look into this style of music, heh.
-
I think it's some sort of Fender amp (tweed clone?) with reverb?
-
NICE!

I think the amp is a tweed Fender Champ (http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=8160500000), you can see it to the right of Carl at the start of the video. It sounds like there is some slapback (short analog delay with single repeat) and a bit of reverb.
If you're interested in the style, messing around with Travis picking using the hybrid style is lots of fun but harder than it looks, at least for me
-
Very impressive playing-the guy is very talented. The guitars look good too for that matter. One of my mates plays that sort of style and it is amazing to see and listen to.
-
This guy is awesome. But he does so cool, why isn't he a bit more into it? Maybe he's just nervous ...
Anyways, I'd say we'll hear about him in the future.
What was his name? Kyle Brainshuck?

Carl Bradychok

Every self respecting guitarist needs to own Gattons Relentless 8)

Hi Everyone,
I know this is an old topic, but I came across this post earlier, and I just thought I'd join and thank everyone for the kind words!
The set up was a "standard" Hahn 228 guitar, a Louis Electric amp thats based off of a Tweed-era Tremolux (about 40 watts), with one repeat on a digital delay pedal... I can't remember what kind, the pedal board that was there was Hahn's. No reverb! Just a cranked Fender-styled amp and some delay.

Well, Carl - you should be proud - very nice work - as the guys says, you don't have to be a shredder to play technical stuff that is way beyond most of us!
You just need to have a word with that guy Hahn to get some BKPs in those "absolutely not a Tele" 228s...
-
Carl - You're a class act. Keep it up.
As you can see, you've got plenty of admirers over here in the UK!
-
Welcome Carl! Let us know if you're ever gigging in the UK, I'm sure some of us will come along! :)
-
Welcome to the BKP forum Carl :D
You've got a great career ahead of you, I'm sure we'll be hearing lots of your playing for year to come. Thanks for specifying what kit you were using in the clip. Is it similar to your current live rig?
-
Again, thanks everyone!
I bought a 228 after NAMM last year. So my current live set up most of the time is the Hahn, a 66 Bassman through a 1x12 cab, and a DD-5 delay with one repeat, and then a Tube Screamer. Most of the time I bring two guitars to a gig, so I bring my White Falcon also, or whatever other guitar I feel like playing that night. :)
By the way, I know a lot of people are questioning what Hahn means when they see the video and he says "they're NOT Teles," he doesn't mean they style, sound or any of that. He just wanted to make it clear that he doesn't call his guitars "Teles" for copyright reasons... Incase Fender was watching. Haha. So don't think he's got a big ego and thinks he created a whole new guitar or anything. :)

In the timeless words of Warrant..
"Big talk is just talk unless · Unless your backin' it up · Big talk is cheap talk is · Only words unless you're backin' it up"
I don't think we'll be seeing many Namm clips of JJ anytime soon.. :P

I'm sure Carl isn't worried, he knows he's good... and going to get even better

Great work Carl... man, I wish I could play like that!
