Title: Big pedals and big pedalboards
Post by: tomjackson on August 11, 2009, 05:12:45 PM
I've decided I'm fed up with my huge pedalboard and have just realised that If I chose my pedals with size as a criteria I could have a nice compact pedalboard.

I mean the new Love pedals are tiny, why do I have to have HUGE pedals!

My Akai Headrush and Carl Martin Classic Chorus take up loads of space and weigh a ton!

I'm starting again with Boss size or smaller..... :?

i have an EHX P.O.G., a  Big Muff Pi and a Snarling Dogs wah.  they're like giant cartoon pedals!

i've actually just ordered one of the Love Pedal Pickle Vibes, and i reckon it and my little Thundertomate Booster might be all i need.  the new Love Pedals are indeed tiny, and as time goes on i realise that having lots of things to tweak just gives more things to go wrong!

Blue....the pickle vibe is amazing, you'll love it. I can't get why, we always need such a big case for pedals?

I cant understand why anyone would want a big pedalboard...       :D

Its not all wired up as (funnily enough) Im having noise/hum problems.   Im too tight to buy Voodoo Labs  :(

I wish my pedalboard (http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=13624.0) could be smaller, but I'm kinda limited by the fact that my Engl footswitch with my Wah next to it measures ~26" wide, so unless I went custom, the Pedal Train pro was pretty much the only thing that would fit.

Seeing as it was so deep I figured I might as well put my MXR pedals on too :)  If I was getting a custom build, I'd ditch the Flanger, Phase90 & Little Lehle II and have a board that was smaller.

Having said that, I don't think there's a chorus pedal in existence that even comes close to the MXR & I certainly don't see myself willing to trade back to Boss just to save some space...
