I recently purchased a BKP Holy Diver from a US distributor. This guy removed the springs and screws before shipping me the pup and told me " just use another set, theres no Mojo with the originals" :shock: I contacted Tim and complained about this, Tim personally sent me a new set of screws! From ENGLAND, I live in Colorado! :guitar4: :band1: TIM YOU ROCK! The Holy Diver is AWESOME!

I love the customer service that comes with BKP, that's why I order direct from the company (that and the fact that all of my orders have been custom so far), despite it taking nine days to get to New York, after whatever time it takes for Tim to make my order :shock:
But, to be honest, the screws are okay, but the springs will serve you better if you're gifted with nerves and patience of steel.

That sucks the dealer did that and cool that Tim took care of you, but they really are just a set of screws and springs. I have the set from my HD sitting on my table since I used the stock springs and screws. I would have mailed em to you :)

But when you pay $164.00 for one pickup you deserve all the parts Tim puts into the package!

$164? My Holy Diver (raw nickel, with allen bolts) came out to around one forty or one fifty-something... Then again, nine days shipping... :?

i thought that at first until i realised that the screws from the stock pup i was replacing were a lot wider than the holes on the bkp so im glad i got them.

it is better to get the proper bkp ones - as has been pointed out, the originals may not fit.. and also theres a good chance you're building a custom, and then there would be no original springs and screws :) i have quite a few spares now, but in the beginning theres been a couple of situations where i would have been stuffed without them

Was it a Korean/Japanese pickup? BKP use exactly the same size screws as Duncan, DiMarzio, Gibson etc.
I never use the BKP screws because I don't like the slot heads.

But Philly, contrary to what Diezeldale's dealer said, there is major mojo in the slot-head screws - for some reason, one of my Riff Raffs has philips screws (I think my MQ set came from BKP with a mixture, and I was swapping RRs/MQs around, can't remember exactly...), and the slot-head pickup has a serious vintage tone, the other's just good... :lol:
On a more serious note, though: I'm with you Diezeldale - I want the stuff that's meant to be in the box, so that would p1ss me off as well, but then Tim and BKP go the extra mile... that's class

I like the B.K.P. screws and springs, as even they have good 'build quality'. The springs are narrow, well proportioned and strong, whilst the slot headed screws seem to be of a durable material, neatly threaded - and the slot heads ( in my case ) help by looking very 'retro' . A 'Vintage' pickup just seems to suit a 'vintage' screw.
It's also great when the M.D. of the company is personally on hand for questions and that personal touch, long after they have acheived an enviable success in their business operations. :D
