Title: Riff raff and painkiller installed and rocking!

So i finally got round to getting them installed by my guitar tech and yeh, they are great. I had them installed im my John Petrucci musicman replacing some dimarzio's. The dimarzio's were custom petrucci models but effectively they were an air norton and steves special. I wanted a bit more punchiness and kick and thats what i got!

The Painkiller is the most notable upgrade. Its very tight and punchy, kinda has a grind to it so i think its really gonna kick through when i play with my band. Very clear and everything sounds much fuller.

The riff raff doesnt seem to be a popular model on this board but its what Tim recommended and its great. Again, very clear, punchy. Seems to be able to bite when i really dig into the strings. It doesnt seem too compressed so it feels really expressive. Im quite into the shred stuff to and it handles this really well. Sweep arps and fast runs stand out although it do show flaws in technique a little more. I love it though, i was dubious when it was first suggested but it does what i want, on first impressions at least.

Anyhow, for people interested im using a boogie Mark IV. Although i do avoid the scooped settings and boost my mids a little more. The pickups really seems to respond to this.  But yeh, great stuff, Tims help was great as was the contributions to the treads i posted. Thanks to those who helped. Think i may record a video this weekend, riff raff clips seem to be hard to come by:)

Problem is tho, now i need to change pickups in 7 other guitars..............£££££!!

Its already happened! I had band practice today and well, i am genuinely amazed at what they have done to my guitar. My painkillers detroyed my mates active EMG's (considering he was playing though an ENGL powerball and $x12 cab):) I was playing though a cr@ppy marshall 2x12 cab too so when i hook up my recto 4x12 i can only imagine whats gonna happen :)

Cant recommend them highly enough.
