My old camera was playing up so I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago and took some pics of things I haven't really shown everyone
The first shot shows some strats with new BKP's. The pink is a hardtail and has the new 62 Custom set - very nice AV sound with some SRV push but mellower than the Irish Tours.
The Les Paul is aa all mahogany Will Scott custom build, with Emeralds and infinate sustain! The guitar sings - I think it is the wrap around, 25.5" scale and mahogany. Anyway it is really nice!
Bright red Tele is a MIJ Tele Custom with 52 Blackguards. Not sure what the final spec is on these, but mine sound great. I think I prefer them to the 50 black guard. Nuff said.
The black big headstock strat has a custom 69 Strat set, which is a great sounding set that should have a maple neck to be true to the sound! However they sound awesome - comfortably ..........
The white strat has a one piece aframosa neck from Warmoth and AV Apache's with baseplates - they have a lot of bass in them but still ring - really nice sounding full tone.
The strat is not a relic, but is my 61 that just was refretted and got a 'new' body from John Elliott - the old body was a replacement and wasn't alder so this was great. I'll do a set of pictures for it - it does have one BK AV Apache on it because it had a bridge humbucker when I got it.
Last pick is my Espana twin neck acoustic from about 1967 which I just had the necks straightened and all reset, though it doesn't like standard tuning, at the moment I have it in DADGAD which gives some great sympathetic tones from the neck you aren't playing. The other guitar is the oldest guitar I own, it is a Washburn parlour gutar from 1917 and has a flat sided V neck, that feels surprisingly comfortable. It is brazilian rosewood and plays really well with a nice low action. It had to have a new bridge fitted because the old one split but other than that it really is a sweet sounding guitar - I can see why Ian Anderson likes this size.
Look for more pictures of the strat

love that les paul!
i want it

Awesome guitars! What is the neck in the black strat? Wenge with Pau Ferro? Bloodwood? Padouk? Is it from Warmoth?? What do you feel about the aframosa?
-
love the double acoustic and the LP
-
i got to play the will scott LP and the 61 strat :)
the les paul is very nice, the 25.5" scale length felt a bit odd at first on a les paul but has been incorporated into the design in a really subtle way that works well and only a little adjustment is needed. I wouldnt have noticed at all if i wasnt so used to normal length LP's. The neck carve was unusal to me but really worked very well, quite flat sided near the nut but completely comfortable

Hi Fenando, the large headstock neck is wenge with a bloodwood fingerboard and stainless steel frets. It is a warmoth and has a Wolfgang carve. The aframosa is also a Warmoth - it was on sale for about $200 and is one piece with an SRV carve. It feels really nice and puts a lot of resonance in the low end of the guitar.

great! :D

having never played a wrap around sporting guitar, how do they hold up for intonation and tuning stability.
im really into that les paul.

Phil is now taking bookings for a tour of his guitar collection. Looks bloody marvellous Phil. There is no need for you to ever leave home with all those toys to play with.

Put me down for the pink strat :D... I always kinda fancied a pink one in the old days, just to p1ss my band off!! Never got round to it though...
I'm getting more and more intrigued by these new 62 pickups... I'm thinking it's what an Andrew really needs in his stratocaster :D

I'd love a shell pick strat, not sure if I'd have the balls to use it at a gig though

This one is a Wilkinson which allows adjustment of the A&D and G&B strings as pairs and overall adjustment of the bridge. The intonation on this is really good but it is probably helped a bit wih the 25.5" scale. I have lots of wrap arounds and I am a big fan. I think it enhances the sustain (PRS must think so too because they used the design for their hardtails). Of course if you have perfect pitch and need to have your intonation down to the cent, then the wrap arounds are a compromise, but look at all the great songs that have been played on Juniors and Specials (both Les Paul & SG's) and many of the 'lower' end Gibsons and you can see that it is always close enough for Rock n Roll 8)

I have a matching P-bass!

That tele has a left handed bridge on it - very odd!

I thought eagle eyed Philly would be the one to notice but you are right. I got it a few years ago on ebay thinking it would be an interesting change over the stock one. Sort of like the reverse slant on a left hander played right handed. It gives a bit of a different tone, with slightly less twang and a little more honk (if that makes sense to anyone but me!).
-
I saw it, but said nothing because I remember you saying you would (or already had) make it :)
Cool about the difference in tone!
