I'm thinking of getting my Strats body refinished. All I want done is to have the wood dyed a certain colour, It's a natural finish 68 reissue Strat so I guess it wouldn't be too labour intensive to sand it down, dye it, then clear coat it.
How much would a luthier charge for something like this? I would do it myself, but I don't trust myself to get the clear coat right

Couple hundred maybe?

give my sprayer a shout:

it will cost extra because of stripping it down, but depending on the condition of the body and the type of finish on there he may be able to do a trans finish over the current one rather than have to strip it all back to bare wood

£180 plus stripping - budget for £220-230
