Yes it's another new tele day for me (So Roo....stay away, you have been warned!), I got this is a PX with the Hiwatt...B E A utiful is the only way to describe the feel of this. Spec as follows:
FENDER TELECASTER:
Fender Japan '62 RI Tele neck
Allparts USA Olympic White body
Bareknuckle Aged '50's Blackguard' pickups....super relic work by Tim @ BK I have to say and they sound fantastic as well.
Kluson/ Fender split post tuners
60's Pre-CBS Neckplate, might be a repro job though, can't really tell so don't buy it just for that alone, it was like that when I got it!!
Cloth wire, Oak 3-way switch, Luxe Cornell-Dubilier Capacitor replica 0.047uF cap, CTS 250K pots
KTS Ti saddles (3 saddle with notches)
Full VERY heavy relic finish to neck, body and hardware

looks good...for a tele
-
what was the relicer smoking!!!
it looks good, i just have a slight pet peeve with cigarette burns on headstocks ;)
-
I almost like that :?
Must be the nice fretboard
-
Looks cool! Who did the relicing?
-
I like the look of that! I actually like the look of a cigarette burn on the headstock. Really nice fretboard too!
The relicing looks good, did you have it professionally done?
-
I got it as part of PX for the hiwatt, so don't know who did the relicing, looks good though!
-
Always good to see another Tele! :D
-
Allow me to pass on some information regarding this one. The relicing work was done by a good friend of mine, "Hugh", or "Shugz" from most of the forums. He recently offered this and its sister Strat and it was a very hard decision to say "no" to this one, believe me.
Knowing Hugh's choice of components, you have got an absolutely top notch Guitar. To my mind, this has the best Tele Pickups that are around....bar none! I had one of the earliest sets Tim ever did and that guitar still stuns people on a regular basis.
Enjoy this beauty. I am still struggling with whether to buy the matching Strat. :D
-
Rob...do it, if it's anything like this...it's amazing!
-
It's "just" like it!..... That is someway is the trouble. :D This damn Strat talks to me everytime I see its picture. The Tele was bad enough, but the Strat.... Oh Hell, I fear I have to start selling things again. LOL
-
Gorgeous !
You must be a very happy chappy . 8)
-
Just seen the strat..and I actually like a reliced guitar

was it really necessary to torture what was a beautiful instrument!?!?

Seriously, there is a limit to how much I like Telecaster. Too much is as it is, TOO much.
I'm starting to dislike them now. And especially since all you seem to point out Roo before he even thinks of clicking the threads.
I dunno. Nice enough Telecaster - I guess.

Who pissed in Johnnys cornflakes :P
There is lots of Tele love on the forum at the mo!

haha :D

That relic job is way OTT, IMO.
It doesn't look real anymore.
-
Why hola Mr Gary (now who's doing the stalking now......;)),
Glad you are enjoying the Tele, I had a lot of (dark) fun doing that one I must admit. Just for the 'relic-haters', I really did set out for a complete OTT heavy relic finish (or lack of) in the Tele just to be upfront. I'm no Clive Brown or Tom Murphy though, far from it, just player first and foremost.
Like I say though, I'm glad you are enjoying it Gary, I will miss it but as mentioned, I'm more a Gibson man AND your old Hiwatt is a beaut too, very happy there. I know this is my first post but I have also had many a set of BK's over the years and indeed most of my Gibsons sport something nice from Tim and the boys at BK!
cheers
Hugh

Yes, Gary finally got my login working :) Cheers for the welcome and will have to go round 'the collection' now and tally up how many sets of BK's I have!
