Ordered a set of Ultex Sharps while getting some strings this week. They didn't have 1mm which I'd have normally taken, so I orderd .73s.
Wow these really feel and sound different. They got great attack but still go fast, immense tone and sharpness. I feel like I am flying over the guitar while producing each note much clearer than before. I think the shape of these is great and the material is special, too!
Anyone use these?

I use Ultex Jazz IIIs - are the Sharps just a slightly larger version???
-
Hi Dave,
The Sharp have a more pronounced tip, lengthier shape, so they create more Pang! when you hit them, whereas the JazzIIIs have more Tump!

Gotcha!
I think they'll be a bit big for me, I like the Jazz III shape as I find larger picks awkward to hold!

yeah, they are bigger than JazzIIIs, have around the same length as the normal tortex, are a bit slimmer around the sides, like in between standard and JazzIII.

looks perfect for me, especially if they do it in 1.5 or 2mm
I saw these on the dunlop site a month ago, but couldn't find any to buy when I ordered new string, small jazz III picks flap around in the hand little more than I like due to the smaller surface to grip, I'm too used to bigger picks I think
today I've been playing around with an unused black jazz III xl I found laying around

I've got a big stash of these in the 0.88mm (green)
I got into them about 10 years ago and bought in bulk and later changed my taste in picks

Anyone want them?

I'm always loosing my picks, think the cat must eat them. How much do you want for them?
I'm using one of WezV's picks at the minute and still haven't lost it

i tried the green tortex sharps and liked the tone, but i found it quite hard to get pinches with them

I tried the green tortex ones years ago, they didn't suite my picking style at all - I've avoided all pointy things ever since

I have moved from my 3mm stubby triangles to ultex triangles, but found the step down to 1.16mm quite difficult. They're so thin!! If they made these in 2mm + I'd be very happy.
I don't think I could go back to non-triangular picks now, though. Took ages to find someone who sold the ultex ones in 1.16mm thickness, too - why, oh why, Dunlop! Just make the stubby triangle out of ultex! :)

and big stubbies, hey roo I found the 2mm version the other day, although delivery would have been £8 just for the picks!
used to love those green sharpies, I think they are a bit string scratchy now, but good for practising with, got the white 1.5mm version laying around if I want a challenge

Oh man, I'll take them if they're still going – sometimes they're a bit tricky to get hold of.
