The guitar I have always dreamed of - a surf green, surf green heastock rosewood strat! Got it today, light alder body, great medium neck, tons of sustain. Love it.
Having BKP making me a custom hot wound formvar alnico V set for a hot early 60s strat sound - can't wait......Surf's up dude
-
Cute! :D
(and before Philly says owt, I'm gradually coming round to coloured headstocks, in fact it seems "right" with surf green )
-
thumbs up on that strat! i know you've wanted one of those for a while, so congrats :) i hope to report a strat or two soon.
-
the matching headstock is right - very cool!!
-
Perfect 8)
-
I love surf green finished strats, not sure if I'm completely convinced with the coloured headstock strats, I guess I'd have to see one in person.
-
nice :)
is that surf green, though? i thought surf green was bluer...

You may be thinking of my favourite Fender colour Sea Foam Green?

Great to hear you've got one you've always wanted!
Surf Green is very cool.
I've been obsessed with Sea Foam Green for ages myself :D

THe first time I saw a Sea Foam Green quitar was back in the early 90s, in Andy's in Denmark Street in that there London. I remember walking in and seeing this SFG Tele and simply stopping in my tracks. I can't tell you if it was a rosewood board, or a maple board, I suspect it was rosewood due to the time the colour was in production. One day I will have one.
It also looks damn sexy on a Strat, but so does Sonic blue, arghhhh... GAS!

Nice work Elliot! Great score!

The owner of these has a couple more than this now too - the Highland and the 305 below:

thats really cool, but you do have to allow for natural variation in the mix as well as how the finishes age. there is loads of variation in what can pass for these well known fender colours
-
Yeah seems like Surf & Sea Foam can become an obsession ...
-
ah, thanks shobet, i think you're right.

Plus your monitor will more than likely be displaying it differently to how mine is set up and also your eyes may see the colour completely differently to mine.
No offence Twin, but those PRS' do $%&# all for me, but that Tele in Afghan's post has me wanking like it's going out of fashion.

The Seafoam PRSs do nothing for me either mate!
And watch where you're firing that thing...
-
That is AWESOME mate! Matching strat headstocks are the business!
-
Cute! :D

Damn, too slow! :x Now what about burgundy mist, Andy?
Looks great, Elliot, nice catch! :D
As for the PRS collection, it looks brilliant on the EG (should've had a matching headstock though!). Not crazy about the others.
-
May I join in the congratulations Elliott. Looks great.
-
Cool!
-
Nice guitar Elliott, very Jeff Beck!

I was wondering whether this was the case as I was reading down - they just don't look quite right somehow (it was almost a "my eyes, my eyes!!" moment...)
I'm with Shobet on the tele (I assume you meant the left hand one, that's the one I liked)... but, I am, er, standing well behind him while I admire it!

Burgundy mist as a colour is grabbing me at the moment (possibly something to do with loving my red SG faded at the moment?)

Nah the Foam green one on the right with the maple board and not the Surf green one on the left.
-
Nice guitar Elliot
And thanks Shobet for te Novak links - will be useful reference

Ahhh... I preferred the rosewood board one on the left... don't need me mac then!

Actually, I've had another thought on this (I went back to look at the other links on page 1, and couldn't help my eyes being assaulted again ) - those PRSs might not look so bad if it wasn't for the horrendous sofa and carpet background...
