I have an abraxas bridge IV and a riff raff V neck in my les Paul. With an SG fund on the go at the moment (The Gold Top fund is on hold, priced out of the market at the moment) I hope to get a standard at some point.
Would these pickups work in an SG body or would I be better getting a bridge Riff Raff for the all out SG vibe.
Need more guitars to keep up with my desire for pickups. Sometimes I feel guilty, but I dont drink very much, gamble or visit houses of Ill repute.
Although the latter offers stiff competition for BKPs.
Chris.

If you don't drink or visit houses of ill repute you're never gonna be a rock star (Stones; Honky Tonk Woman)

I think the Abraxas would sound good in any style guitar, esp in a mahogony body.Really creamy and warm.

It has been a long time, but I think: Abraxas=Santana=Blackmagic Woman=SG with P90's. I think

The rock star dream passed about 15 years ago. I've got a wife, a daughter,a baby due, a mortgage, a garden and a Saab.
I've spilled more drink down my tie than some of todays so called rock stars.

...know the feeling!!! i've also got the wife, mortgage, car note, two kids ...add to that a credit card bill from buying guitars and pickups!!! :D

i'm still dreamin'! :guitar4:
yeah sure i think abraxas would sound great in an SG. Why the hell not? Bear in mind there isnt really much difference between a LP and an SG - other than a bit more wood on a LP. It'll be all warm and round and creamy

Got the wife, at least ;) Now I just need the dosh for the car, the mortage, the baby .... oh, and some more guitars! :)

Tim had mentioned to me that an Abraxas with alnico V magnets would sound good in a mahogany bodied guitar, rather than the IV that I have in my Les Paul. I think the alnico V gives a little more bite, which you get from the maple cap in the LP.

OK I am confused. Is the Abraxas a new model or something? I can't find it on the products page.

Yes, the Abraxas is a new model and will be up on the new website.
Les Pauls are completely different to SG's. A les Paul has much more bottom end as it’s about twice as thick and is only a single cut, so you have more connection between the body and the neck.
Alnico V works better In SG’s; the Riff Raff would be more beneficial I feel.
