Hi, i have a Gibson LP studio and i am going to put a MIracle Man in the bridge position. But im not sure what to put in the neck position. I want to get a real good clean sound in the neck thats mainly what i will be using it for. I heard that the Crawler was good for clean, but how whould it balence between the Miracle Man?

My VHIIs have awesome cleans, as well as a beautiful overdriven sound at the neck as well; the cleans get even better with a coil tap. How that would balance with the MM bridge, I dont know.

Thats the main problem with super high output pups it seems. Its hard to find something to balance out a MM when it's going to specialise in clean sounds... I think the VHII should be okay. we really need tim here...

I think some guys have used the neck Mule with a bridge MM to good effect. We need HJM or the BK guys to clarify.

Of course, it depends on what you want it to sound like, and whether you want another ceramic magnet or an Alnico in the neck.
You could of course go the safe route and get a calibrated (matched) set of Miracle Man (Men?) pickups. All the BKP's I've got are calibrated sets and I'm really happy with the decision to go that route.
VHII's are a popular choice, however, I'd suggest that an Emerald neck would be quite nice as well, but if you're looking for cleans, how about a Mule?
-
From what I've heard, the Mule balances well with the MM (mine's in the post), and can you can really dig in to get the tones you want. Gorgeous cleans coupled with a nice, fat crunch, should you want it, and there are loads of clips you can listen to.
The MM isn't as nice when clean as the Mule, and if you're going to use the neck to play cleaner parts, then I wouldn't suggest it. We do really need you to say what sound you're really looking for to make an accurate suggestion. Bands, players, etc. Otherwise, the Mule would be a safe, yet ridiculously good bet.

bkp don't make any ceramic neck pickups as far as i know.

Yeah, I remember one of the BKdudes pointing out that ceramic in the neck just wouldn't have the right sort of neck vibe.
That said, I think an Abraxas in the neck would be great :) and oughta hold up alongside a MM bridge. Though my prejudices aside, the Miracle Man neck probably does quite good organic cleans (not being ceramic).

We sell a lot of Miracle man/Mule sets. Tim used to have a Miracle man and stormy monday in his foster les paul.
Balance wise, the volume wont change but the amount of gain will.
Go for the Mule, its got some of the best clean tones around.
