Title: NAD! (and ngd!)
Post by: Lew on September 14, 2009, 03:41:29 PM
I've been wanting this badboy for a while now but couldn't manage it last time it was for sale. Gonna need some time to get familiar with all the controls (it's got a confusing number of volumes!) but It sounds sweet  8)

I got to meet Nolly too, he brought some of his sweet guitars and took me to school with his sick playing ;)

Been watching that one, too, the guy was advertising it on Rig-Talk and HRI. Great amp, that's for sure, I'm looking forward to hearing some clips.

Congrats and HNAD!!!

Don't know what you mean :p

I'll bust out some clips when I've got a hang of the amp. I saw it in the seconds out here.

Most of the Modena clips I've heard have been great.

Ah ya bugger Lew, you beat me to it.

Oh well, should get a PRS instead then :P

But somethings wrong with your VHT...
+1

It should look more like this:

I just noticed that you have a MJW cabinet too, lol

Thats it!

Couldnt quite put my finger on it.

(Maybe, before mr Fryette decided "these amps are good enough now that I can put my name on them" someone should have told him that his name sounds like french cookery, not rock and metal amps).

Nah, just buy my Deliverance for 500 less than you would have the Elmwood :p

Yea, it's a sweet cab loaded with 73-75 greenbacks.

MDV, he didn't have much choice as he lost the name in court! Something about borrowing money from AXL and using the name as capitol... and not paying the money back, doh! The new VHT are not VHT, VHT is now AXL and VHT is really FRYETTE  8)

Ah, he made out that he just thought that he should put his (gay) name on the amps.

Fibenare, Dave. http://www.destroyallguitars.com/fibenare

I wonder if I can block the trem myself, it can't be that hard.

Certainly some lovely timber and paintwork there!

You had another Fibenare before, didn't you?

Yep, a brown one  8)

What's the best way to block the trem? With wood either side or one side and loosen the claw?
Title: Re: NAD! (and ngd!)
Post by: Jonny on September 16, 2009, 06:33:39 PM
If its the usual tremolo system then wap a Tremol-no in it and you'll be fine.

They have a video on installing it and it's really easy.

EDIT: If it's a Fibernare how come it doesn't have the blobby ball shaped ends on it?

That's the Erotic. This is the Classic - via custom order.

This is the one you want though :p

Edit: The Tremelo-no looks cool but a bit over engineered for my needs. I want to block it off perma, I wont be using it at all.

Wood, both sides, in there solid, and loosen the claw as well, if you want.

Ta. I've booked it in this weekend to get the trem blocked and set-up with 9-46. I don't care if I'm a string pussy, 10's are too much for my girly hands :p

That is one sexy guitar, What scale length is it out of curiosity?

25.5" afaik. I'm not sure what the nut width is though, on the Fib site it says they do either 42mm or 43.5mm but this feels like neither.

Wow, you weren't kidding about the Fibenare - that is stunning.
You should get a Tremol-no for the Floyd. That way you can have it fixed, down-bend only, or floating at a twist of a knob. I'm probably going to stick one in the Vigier just so that I could lock the bridge and downtune it comfortably should I be unexpectedly needed to.

Ta, he's nearly 20 :o !! Had him since I was 8, it will be a very very sad day when he passes. I'm probably closer to him than I am most of my family  :lol:

Cheers Nolly :)

Pretty sure I'm going to just go for the cheaper option of 2 bits of wood though.

How are you getting on with the bridge pup?

As usual, I took way more attention to the pics than the words :lol: I just get my mind away with nice maple and burst :D

+1 to Tremol-no

Did some neck measurements as it didn't come with a spec sheet or anything.

Scale = 25.5"
Nut width = 42mm.  24th fret = 57mm
Radius = 10.5" - 21"
Depth = .825" at 1st - .905" at 12th

The dimensions on the usacg neck I've ordered are practically the same. The usacg has a straight 16" radius and is .05 thicker at the 1st fret and .05 thinner at the 12th.
