Hi,
New here and first post... apologies if this subject has been done to death, but I need some advice.
I was going to replace me Tele Standard (H/S/H routed) pickups with SD Hot Stack at the bridge and SD Full Stack at the neck. However, I have been told I must check out Bare Knuckle kit first.
I tend to play 'dirty' almost grunge type Texas Blues along with some 80's heavy rock - I like my crunch, but I also like my cleans to be clean and smooth.
So what combo pickups do you guys suggest?
MontyW
PS: The amp I'm running at the moment is a DSL50 head and 2x12 cab - just incase you need to know this?

Hi Monty, welcome to the BKP forum :)
BKP don't do any stacks or any other type of single coil sized humbucker but if you like crunch, the I think you'll like the Piledrive http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/ZT-piledriver.html.
You can hear a sound clip in the link below,

The alternative if you must have hum-cancelling, is to get a new bridge and pickguard and put 2 standard size humbuckers in your Tele. Holydriver bridge with Mississippi Queen neck are a popular combination.

I would try a Boss set - mine Boss still lies unfitted, but these are the exact tones I'm hoping for from it. Tried a Boss at Feline Guitars and really liked it.

Hi Plexi Ken, thanks for the welcome and reply. I've just listened to Piledrive on here and it sounds 'gorgeous'!
As you say I can go double humbuckers - so many options :D
Hi gwEm - thanks for the heads-up on the Boss; again something to consider.
Cheers,

Out of the tele BKPs I have, you'd want a cross between Blackguards and Yardbirds. The BGs would do the grungy blues, the YBs the rock and divine cleans... Either could cope with the other style, but not as well...
However, from what I've heard, I think Piledrivers is where I'd be looking if I had your needs and one guitar to do it with.
And another welcome here :D

Thanks Andy - I'm sort of coming round to the idea of twin Pildrivers.
Thanks for the welcome!
