Title: New Scar Day - Bo**cks!
Post by: Afghan Dave on September 20, 2009, 10:43:19 PM
I fell out of bed and hit my head in the bedside table... So now I've got a nice new scar over my right eye..

I'm really not happy about it and don't relish the idea of looking like a Bond villain but C'est la vie.

My hope is that it might look kinda macho after I heal. I feel really down at the moment.  :(

Dude there are specialised surgeons for that kind of stuff. I had face surgery when i was 18 and the guy was a face surgery specialist, there is no visible scar at all.

Maybe have a look before it's all healed, a specialist might still get it perfect.

I have a scar near the corner of my eye, my friend's little brother stabbed me with a pen. Still have the eye though. In its socket obviously. Not in a jar.

I've got a fairly big scar on my forehead (and a bit of a bump/dent in my skull) from when I fell off a climbing frame when I was four.

I don't know if other people notice it or not, but I never even think about it myself.  In fact I'd forgotten about it when I first read this thread, I've only just remembered it!

Then again, I have had 40 years to get used to it.

I actually do have a scar on my bollocks, it's the strangest feeling having 8 stitches holding your knackers together.

Hope the immediate after-effects such as pain etc wear off soon as possible, and that the scarring turns out to be one of "not so bad", "not too expensive to rectify", or a serious "female-attracting enhancement"...

We do need pics though (now we've cleared up that it's not, er, "Bo**ocks" - I too was dreading what I was gonna find in this thread ) - cos, face it, you are a "boy", like most of us, and we boys all have experience of major injuries that are classified slightly differently by otherwise caring individuals (ie women like our wives, girlfriends or mothers) - you know, "stop making a fuss, it's just a scratch, of course you're still able to do the ironing", that sort of thing.

If you post pictures, we can offer "expert advice" that you can use as evidence for "I need to be signed-off for a couple of weeks, bed (sofa) rest, dvds, beer, that sort of thing..."

EDIT: Oh dear, Badgermark (Todgermark?!), someone had to lower the tone properly didn't they?

EDIT2: Perhaps you should have started a new thread, you've probably up-staged Dave's "inconsequential" injury in all our minds now!!!

Guess my days as a "pretty boy" were over a decade ago... Time to embrace "rough n ready"  :?

I hope it heals soon Dave. Mrs 38th says Rosa Mosqueta oil is good in assisting skin to heal. The surgery I had some years back was treated with it and there is barely a scar whereas surgery I had years back before I ever met Mrs 38th shows ( well it would if it were in a prominent place).

You can't really be an all 80's rocker without a scar, can you?

Doesn't Vitamin E cream work on scars?  Maybe you should go to a Clarins salon and get a facial - now that would be very Hair Metal!

Sorry fellas, wasn't looking for sympathy, just thought I'd put things in perspective for poor little Dave and his scratched head. Now all you need is a tele and you can rock like a REAL man. A man with scars and a tele. Yeah.

Well, has been a few days and I am desperately trying to leave it well alone to heal as recommended but it now itches. So all is normal.

When I went to hospital they were very concerned about concussion but I shrugged that off and was more worried about cosmetics. Now I think I might have been knocked a bit about in the brain because I've been feeling very odd.

All that aside...

F**king mindreaders... I was just thinking "Aww I might buy that Tele to cheer myself up, I kinda deserve it after this"  :P

GAS sure finds any excuse.

(NOBODY BETTER SAY WANTING A TELE IS A SURE SIGN OF BRAIN DAMAGE)

Well, I have to admit that I managed to buy three teles in 12 months, and that was following a slight blow to the head ... you don't think they're connected do you?

^ And that Fernando's a rugby player isn't he? They usually have a bit of brain damage...

Don't let Roo know about this!!

(Where is he btw, I ain't heard of him for a while, kinda miss his balanced tele-reporting  - Hope all's well Roo)

EDIT: I know what it is, Roo's bought the remastered Beatles box sets, both versions, stereo and mono... and he's been busy listening ever since

Yeah Roo will be listening to his remastered Beatle albums and would have got to Let It Be and heard George playing his Rosewood Tele and gone all gooey.
