Ned Evett playing a fretless strat with glass fingerboard. Definitely interesting, not sure I'd want to play chords on it though.

i saw this guy (pretty sure it was him) supporting Steve Vai in Dublin.  pretty impressive stuff.  he seems to have no trouble playing chords on the fretless.  i got a cd, and to be honest most of the time you don't even realise it's not a normal guitar.

He played at a music festival in my village and stayed at the hotel I work at.   I had a good chat with him about guitars etc. but unfortunately never got to see him play.   He got rave reviews from everyone that saw him though.

I own a 6 string fretless bass which i bough online without ever having tried a fretless and was expecting it to be a really hard learning curve, (Les Claypool once said going from 4 string fretted to 6 string fretless was like trying to play a trumpet!) but I actually found it quite easy; you just need to have a really good ear, which I think I do, and a bit of fretboard experience so you can play without looking!

Im not sure an electric guitar would be quite so easy though, especially with full chords.   I have my intonation set on a slight curve to compensate for barre finger angle, but Ned really has it nailed.

Ron Thal does a lot of this stuff too.
I like the non shreddy slide bits
