Hi guys,
Yesterday I got an Ibanez ORM-1 (the Omar Rodriguez guitar) and whilst the rails pup in it is ok, it's certainly no BKP. As you can see form my sig I've got a few other BKPs in various guitars and will do with this one as well.
My only experience with BKP singles are the Trilogy set I have in my Strat, and whilst I do love these, I guess I want this guitar to have real massive power and punch. The guitar itself is all mohogany, body and neck.

So I was wondering about the sinner?
I want to have a fat heavy sound, but I do like a nice clean sound as well.
My band is kind of Incubus, Tool, Funeral for a Friend, Alexisonfire mixed together (well at least they are some of our favourite bands).
What do you think would suit best?

it sounds like a Sinner (or the infamous uber-sinner!) to me... never played one, but MDV should, if i remember well...
-
What about a chunky Tele pickup like the Piledriver???
-
Yeah I was considering the Piledriver too...
What's an uber-sinner?
-
If you are going tele - dont overlook The Boss pickup - really good and versatile
-
Of course a Tele pickup would mean butchering the guitar..... :(
Maybe you could get one of the Strat models, with a baseplate for a bit more of that Tele bridge pickup quality?
-
Thanks for the replies - what difference would a base plate make to a strat pup?

Opinions vary, so it's probably best to do a search on the forum.
But here's a good place to start:

Thanks :)

And the answer from Tim is Sinner with baseplate. So that's what I'll get.

great choice, i have one of those

maybe i'm late, but the uber sinner (or at least is how MDV calls it, if i'm not wrong...) is an overwound sinner. custom stuff, but Tim does many weird things with his pickups if you ask him!
-
I understood, and could be wrong, that all Sinners made these days are what were called uber-sinners in the past (16k vs 26k or whatever it is).
-
Thanks guys - I'll check with Tim as to what exactly the Sinner is (uber or not) :)
