Title: Diago Powerstation
Post by: Mr. Air on October 22, 2009, 11:07:07 AM
The Diago Powerstation came up recently in some FX thread and now I just got the hots for one.

It's quite small, can power a lot of pedals and it doesn't matter if your pedals use 9 or 12V. It would certainly give me more space at my pedalboard and I could get rid of the 12V adapter running my T-Rex Replica.

Anyone who got the powerstation and can recommend it?

The Diago only supplies 9v, not 12v......

you may beable to run the replica form a 9v supply.. id check that out, as the tc electronics nova says it needs 12v but runs fine off 9v

If you decide you like the Diago, it's HIDEOUSLY expensive.  The Johnny Shredfreak website used to sell an identical power supply for £15.  It's not there any more though, so I'd drop him an email and see if he can get you one.....

OK. Seems like I got it wrong with the Diago powerstation.

I'll try to run the Replica on 9V sunday at practise and se if it's manageable. Come to think of it I think I can manage without a powerstation. I just need a little time arranging the board.

Thanks for the answers.

I'm not sure they're identical but I have a Johnny SF one and I'm not too thrilled with it to be honest. Theyre quite noisy and if I run the daisy chain close to the patch leads they introduce a lot of noise. Also, if I have my guitar plugged into the pedalboard, and then disconnect the lead from my amp, I somehow get electricity running through my guitar strings and I get a mini-zap :? May be because I don't have all the daisy chains plugged in.

I have one too, power and signal lines crossed all over the place and it's silent.

Sounds like you need to sort your board out properly Kaz!

lol Ive no idea what's wrong though. It's not ground loop or anything. Do you use their daisy chain as well? I know it's not my pedals cos they work fine on my other board.

I have one from Johnny SF - use Diago daisy's though, including some unused - dead quiet, no electric shock.

I seem to remember Martin (Martamp) posting ages ago that those Diago PS units can be bought from Rapid Electronics at much lower cost (apparently Diago just re-brand the PS ???)

Yes, , they were £8.50 last time I bought a couple, but the one I used to get (85-2942) has been discontinued.

They do other 9V SMPS's, but I've had trouble with clock noise on at least one that they do.

Johnny Shredfreak doesn't seem to do them any more either.
