You were right! Our guitars could hardly be more different and still both be solidbody 6 string electrics!

Something Matt Bellamy has, presumably.

I congrat you on the glitteriness. However, anything relating to Matt Bellamy and his guitars I tend not to like.

But to each his own.

I'm not a fan of the design and finish, but it seems to be really well build by Bob... Seems like the man is a monster builder, it all looks "tight"

lol, too true man :)

Yeah its definitely a fuzz factory.

As for the holes in the back, 2 are FF that control the all the crazy oscillation noises, 3rd is the on/off and 4th is a kill switch.

How come there's no locking nut?

Thats a good question.

It may get a string lock but at the moment the really straight pull, the locking tuners and the super slippy Earvana nut seem to make it an unnecessary complication. The Captain wants to use the strings above the nut to get some Matt Bellamy type squeals that necessitate having no string guides or other impediments to the sound being transmitted down the neck.

Bob, you should ignore the Cptn and fit a locking nut! He can always leave the locking nut off if he wants it to go out of tune and make silly noises. Looks daft without it too  8)

I'm not judging you, man. If you want to wear a pink glitter guitar that's totally righteous. It's nearly 2010 after all :P

You know I'm joking, the fiddle looks sweet as hell.

It isn't going to go out of tune Lew; I don't make guitars that go out of tune :) :)

The Earvana nut, which really can help with intonation. dictates that a locking nut is out. If there's any sign of instability in the tuning it'll get a string lock immediately behind the nut. "looking daft" doesn't really enter into it.

Cheers,

Yes, yes it does....

It was however a  mucho pain in the ass to finally come together.....I'm notoriously picky but horrendously undesicive, which is a bad combo when working with an amazing luthier such as Bob who will offer useful suggestions and insight but basically builds whatever you want him to...my first design was a concoction of confusion that after Bob finished the first one, I basically thought "hmmm.....what was I thinking!" So we recycled the neck and pickups to build a second one after I simmered down, of course as you see is amazing.

However, after looking over my original design, then using MS paint to paint on the parts as they were upon the photos of the Glitterati I have, I'm thinking, "wow, if I hadn't redesinged it 30 million times over it could've been awesome as well..." speaking of which I need to send said file to Bob....

And thus, my next project is born!

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you would make gear that goes out of tune. I just assumed the Cptn chose a Floyd over a normal 2 point because he was gonna unleash the fury on it.
