Title: name of sound
Post by: Dmoney on November 02, 2009, 02:02:41 PM
French company...

i've been looking at cabs again.

came across these 4x12's with a centre partition.
I think they look pretty cool. the partition i imagine makes the thing sounds closer to two 2x12's.
anybody any experience with this or something similar?

these look cool too, apart from the rather horrid logo
purple chilli cabs (formerly Zoot)

They remind me most of mills acoustics cabs.

Is the partition ported?

i dont think its ported.
the mills cabs look pretty swish though, but seriously expensive.
the guitarist from a colleagues band just spent SILLY money on a mills 2x12. says its good though.

They were flavour of the month over at HC amps a couple of months back. How much that says, I dont know, but they do look good. They have a ported baffle in the same place.

Horrifically expensive here though, yeah. Something like £1200 for a 4x12 iirc. I'll stick with my ubercab (which apparently they sound most like anyway)

yeah thats a bit steep.
the NOS has no port in the baffle. loaded with Eminence V12 & GB12 its 950euro. with celestion  equivalent speakers its 1050euro i think. still a lot of cash.

have you tried Mills Afterburner?

I think the Mills Afterburner Straight is supposed to be the best for modern styles at the moment.

Manson guitars are the only UK dealer I'm aware of.

And either I misremebered the price or its gone up

in exeter?
that aint even on my radar.
£1299 seems a lot.

wonder what they are doing different that makes them so good, but at the same time so much more expensive

an uberkab is £880 and thats considered to be damn good. so what about the mills costs £400 more?

Shipping + its mansons + rep.

In the US theyve developed something of a following by being sold direct from the factory for less than ubercabs, diezels, VHTs and their other competitors.
