Title: OK. This is seriously good service!!!!
Post by: jimh on November 06, 2009, 01:28:05 PM
Right.  We all know Tim and the guys at Bare Knuckle are a pickup legends!

But..... My mate Stu heard me blathering on about how much I loved my Rebel Yell and Riff Raff. so he decided to enquire about some pups for his 3 pickup Les Paul Black Beauty.

A few quick e-mails with Tim, and he opted for a set of 3 custom calibrated gold covered Mississippi Queens.
Good choice.

A week later and they are on Stu's desk at work.
Nothing unusual there you might say..... But.....Heres the thing..... Stu is in the Falkland Islands ! ! !

Are these the most Southerly Bare Knuckles in the world?

Stuart Here, from the Falkland Islands...

I'll get them fitted over the weekend and will try them through my new Vox AC4TV, which also arrived in the post today.

I'll let you know how it goes and promise (Jim) not to burn my fingers when soldering...

Stuart :D

Hi All,

Well, they're in!

Took a few photos, but not as many as I should because I was pressing on to get the job finished - you all know what I mean.

I still have some tweaking to go on the action - I installed a graphtec nut at the same time as the pickups. That said - they sound great, if a little hot for the little AC4. They sound great into Gutar Rig 2 though.

Anyway, here's some photos:

Top to Bottom:

1. Old Pups
2. Old Pups hanging out
3. All done - still tweaking the action after the nut replacement
4. Alongside the Vox AC4 TV - cute little amp and surprisingly loud for 4W!
