I would've loved to have seen him live, however I was only 7 when he passed away.

Hearing Muddy Waters for the first time had that same WHAT THE F*CK impact on me as listening to the 1st Sabbath album did when I was about 10.  My parents never had much vinyl around, but what they did have was choice (Highway To Hell, Backwards Completion Principle, Pyromania, Zep III, Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy etc...)  :D

 I've Recently introduced a young guitar playing friend to Delta style playing and the next time he came round he'd been doing some research and was raving about Hooker's Tupelo and Death Letter Blues by the aforementioned Son House. The power and integrity of the classic early Blues players is unimpeachable. Very much include in this category is Muddy Waters. Bung in Charlie Patten and the absolute master Robert Johnson plus Howlin Wolf, Elmore James and .......this could go on for some time.
 These are the guys that laid the foundations for the grit, sexiness and dynamics of modern music.

I agree, rarely a week goes by without me getting my blues fix of some type or other and Muddy, Son House, Elmore, T Bone, BB, RJ are normally featured.
