Title: Egnater & Rocktron pin assignments
Post by: Antag on November 14, 2009, 12:55:42 PM
Just reading up about the Egnater M4 & it's manual (http://www.egnater.com/manuals/M4%20manual%203-07.doc) states:

"9VAC@1amp power is supplied through the 7 pin FOOTSWITCH IN jack. The power is internally assignable to pins 4 & 5 and always active on pins 6 & 7. Please refer to your midi pedal manual for proper settings."

Now I already own a MIDI pedal, a Rocktron Midi Mate.  It's manual states:

"power the MIDI Mate through pins 6 and 7 of the MIDI Mate MIDI OUT jack"

QUESTION: Are pin numbers on 5 & 7 pin jacks standardized?  So when Egnater refer to 6 & 7 they mean the same pins as Rocktron?

I suppose what I'm really getting at is will the M4 power a MIDI mate or will I need to use a separate power supply?

My M4 powers up my pedalboard just fine
I have two different boards - an ADA and a Rolls Midi buddy

Are you joining the Egnater/Randall club as well?

ummm, giving serious thought to it :)  I've got a bucket load of questions - can we talk about it when I come down there next? :)

Not wishing to hijack, but can MIDI switching work with analogue effects?  Or is it only DSP/modelling type effects that you can program?

Presumably there are analogue rack effects that you can get to use with a MID setup?

Mark.
