I’ve just completed my latest song. It is called "Carrier" and it chronicles the life of a man who is quarantined alone on an island for being the sole carrier of a potentially species decimating viral strain.
Musically it features a lot of my new influences including honky tonk guitar licks, southern slide guitar, and a Dethklok-esque breakdown. There's also some evidence of Black Metal ala Behemoth in there as well.
Gear-wise I am sorry to say that I was unable to record with my Matamp this time as it is still out of commission and in dire need of new tubes and an overhaul. So, as a result, I resorted to using my Marshall MG100 for clean amplification using a D*A*M Sonic Titan distortion and my new Meathead Dark fuzz for the left and right guitars, respectively. The amp was run into an Emperor 2x15 (Eminence Big Ben's) mic'd with an SM57 on the lower 15" for the rhythm and into a Marshall 1960b 4x12 with the 57 on a lower 12" for the leads (except for slide guitar which was recorded on the 15"). This was run into a Tascam US122L usb audio interface into Cubase Essentials 4 for some slight eqing and mixing with the bass and drums. The actual guitar used for the whole song was my Epi SG custom loaded with 3 BKP Warpig’s pups (Alnico V[n], Pig-90[m], Ceramic
)
The bass is running into the same setup and uses the Meathead Dark for the "tribal," Dethklok sounding breakdown before the second verse.
Drums were rather painstakingly programmed using DFH EzDrummer with the Drumkit From Hell expansion.
It's my favorite song to date and I'd really like to get any feedback the community here could provide for me. Feel free to critique anything from the guitar playing, riff writing, progression, lyrics, singing, drum programming, guitar tone.
Please enjoy \m/\m/

Dude! I love your stuff. I've seen your posts on Stoner Rock too. This song is brutal. Great tone!

Thanks man. I'm working on rerecording my older stuff and on some new material for a full album soon.

I'm going to have to get me one of those DAM pedals.

sounds great, I'd probably buy this if you made an album - vocals are the weak point though (sorry).

Thanks a bunch. During the re-recording I'm going to try using clean vocals exclusively.
