I predict it won't stay there long!  :P

-
				Clips please Hunter!

Why do you predict that Philly?

Hunter's not that much of a metalhead, I reckon soon he'll be hankering for some subtlety.  He was talking about putting Mules in it less than a week ago.

Of course now he can keep the MM just to prove me wrong.
-
That sounds like a challenge - let's have a sweepstake!

-
Lol, well I wasn't THAT happy with the RYs, and I was just having a giggles today, changed bridge to MM with retuning in <10 minutes, quite cool!

But to my surprise I really dig it. Fat and it plays itself, pinches jumping off in spades. We'll see. Clips not today, but will try soon.

 Cheerio

I must admit there are times when I wish I had a guitar with a pickup like that, so I do know where you're coming from.  I remember an old Guitar Player review of an EMG where they said "notes gush out like water from a firehose"  .   But whenever I tried high-output pickups in the past, I always tired of them quite quickly.

(Of course I'd like all my guitars to play themselves.  That'd be great.  :) )

A miracle Man in a Les Paul or PRS has a lot more versatility than you'd think .
I have one in mine and I love it to death and I swapped out a mule to put it in and the contrast wasn't so night and day as the mule has a fair old kick to it as well
It's not too crisp sounding as some might fear - it's a fat sounding pickup and it's great for Classic 80s rock and will do a bit of metal too.

Made a quick clip this afternoon.

Jonathan, with my 1 day of experience, I can second that. It's much more versatile than one might think.

I was surprised how fat it sounds on the clip - I was expecting piercing treble, to be honest.

-
Great clip to demo the MM. Just shows off the smooth mid character exactly as it is

It's not like that. It's thick and tight, with great string separation and sustain.
-
Nice clip - a really good representation of what the Miracle Man can do.

I agree that "thick and tight" is a good description of the MM.  "Smooth" is the word that springs to mind for me when I play it but as Hunter says, pinches really jump out.  Hitting pinches is mainly about technique - getting your thumb bang on the harmonic node - but somehow they feel easier when there's a MM bridge pickup in the guitar.

The only downside to the MM for me is that I don't really like its clean sound, but as Tim says the Miracle Man "is a weapon of war"

Absolutely, it is technique (one of the very few things I can actually do on guitar, sometimes  ).   But they definitely come more easily with some pickups than others.

So, I quite like the MM sound.  Not saying I'll be buying one, but it's cool.

Just for giggles, showing off some MM squeals/pinches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWs47499w3E

Sounds really good to my ears! - didn't expect that sound from a MM in a McCarty

Neither did I really. In fact it sounds really organic and fat, I was expecting it to me more brash and agressive, but it isn't at all. Just amazing fat crunch in there ...
