Well guys, i'm going to make a TF-like claim and say this will be the last guitar i want to buy (acoustic anyway).

I wrangled myself a Guild F412 12 string (at a significantly lowered price) from Guitar Guitar. It is without a doubt, one of the best sounding guitars i have ever played, and is just gorgeous to look at. Turns out the reason the price was down on it was because they case was knackered, but the guy in the shop just gave me a new better one anyway, highly recommend shop!
The bass is a birthday and christmas present for my little brother, who turns 21 next april and has talked of nothing but jazz basses for quite a while now. So i figured i'd just kill two birds with one stone and get him it for both. It's a Squier Vintage Modified Fretless (Jaco Pastorius anyone?). I'm no bass player, but i can tell it's a good sounding one, these Squier guitars are getting seriously good these days.

Was that Guitar Guitar in Glasgow? I think I played that Guild 12 string the last time I was in there. If it is indeed the same guitar it was very nice, it felt great to play and sounded really good too. I still don't own a 12 string acoustic but have been after one for a while.
Nice bass too. I'm not a great bass player but that one does look good. I have been hearing really good things about squire guitars recently.

It was indeed the Glasgow shop! Probably my favourite guitar shop! And it probably is the same guitar! I tried one in Edinburgh about a year ago, and have wanted one ever since. This one just came along at the right price. 12 strings have been on my mind since i started playing though, one of my friends had one and i always loved the sound.

Great buy. I played one a while back and felt my credit card a'quivering in my wallet but I didn't give in but kinda wished I did.

The Glasgow shop is stupidly massive, but good stupid.

Yes, I love Guitar Guitar in Glasgow. I bought my Rory Strat from them and have bought a few other bits and bobs out of there too. Very friendly and helpfull staff and are negotiable too.

Ah yes, they had one of them in when i lived in Glasgow a number of years ago, bac when i was a student. My flatmate at the time and myself were both big Rory fans, so we used to go into the shop just to look at it (and the Rosewood tele they had).

I just tried this tuning on my office guitar. oooh my indeed! (I haven't played with open tunings in years)
You may have just motivated me to restring my own 12-string this evening. Always knew this forum had broadened my horizons.... :)
Nice Guild BTW...

Here's a classic bit of DADGAD which a certain JP later "borrowed".
