These are such under-rated pickups and they do 100% what I've always wanted from a humbucker set with a PAF tonality. So, here's some examples of what they're all about...

hopefully we'll see some Abraxas love on the forum soon 8)

I'm planning to get a set for my McCarty Korina - could be a long way off, though. :)

Nice sound and all, but I think we've been cheated out of some neck pickup tone! The thread title says "Abraxas SET" not Abraxas bridge. Start playing some solos for us right away to make up for that mistake.
...uhm... please?
(I like your tone)
-
Perfect...you play the same rock of my rock group!!
what do you think about the abraxas in the bridge of the Gibson Sg standard??

The info on the youtube clip says you're using your explorer. So which is it? Your Abraxased LP or the explorer? :?
I would love to hear more of the abraxas :D

whoops, yep, it was the Explorer with EMGs
everything else on my Youtube videos is the BKP Abraxas set though (apart from the Tele clips)
I've got an AC30CC in for repair that I could record some clips of with the Abraxas-loaded LP. Also got one of those EH Wiggler pedals (a fantastic unit) which I'll demo too.

Some Abraxas clips through a AC30 would be great! Much appreciated :D
-
The Down clip sounds great :D

Thanks a lot for the clip, HTH.
Man them Abraxas sound sweet. I gotta get me a pair!
-
That sounds really awesome! I want an Abraxas set and an AC30 now :D
Any idea how Abraxas would sound in an SG? Thats the next guitar on my list :)
-
I'm on a one-man mission to popularise the Abraxas set - they totally rule. I really think they're what most people want when they think "PAF, hmm, but the bridge could be hotter". The bridge has plenty of poke, but doesn't sound over the top and has a sweet clean tone (overwound pickups nearly always sound to stiff/hard played clean).
As for how they'd sound in an SG, I'd wager that they'd sound pretty much the same as in a Les Paul. It really depends on the guitar - in another Les Paul this set would sound different to what they do in my own Les Paul.
