The Jackson has an Alder body, Maple top, bolt-on Maple neck, licensed Floyd Rose. I have linked to a clip I knocked up just so you lovely folks can hear what it's like right now.

As you can hear, the stock Seymour Duncans really aren't cutting it tone-wise. I'd really like to get a nice, full, middy sound with a bit more low-end than I'm getting now, just filling it all out a bit more really. What I'd really like is something that can go "Djent" but will also do other tones too.
My initial thought is a Painkiller in the bridge and a Cold Sweat or Miracle Man in the neck for some nice, smooth soloing a-la Opeth.
Any thoughts, guys?

Hi
I think you are bang on with the Painkiller bridge after listening to your clip, as to the neck position it comes down to whether you want the more fat, sweet, smooth tone of the Cold Sweat neck or the tight, aggressive, harmonic tone of the Miracle Man.

Hmm, I'm going to have to research the neck pup a bit more I think. Was edging towards CS originally but now you mention "Tight, Aggressive, Harmonic" for the MM it sounds more appealing. :?
What a predicament! :D
Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the compliment dude! Aye a lot of people ask what Djent is, heh. My advice is put the word Djent into the search on Last.FM and play whatever it throws up. The sound is usually associated with Meshuggah, Periphery, Tesseract, Architects etc. It's the way the Guitars sound really, that really organic, woody low-end twang you get from playing and setting your gear up for that style.
