Does anyone else like this? Something about it, not sure what. But it appeals to me.

I wouldn't go so far as "hate", but I do find it twee and irritating.

I would. I despise this style of female singer, unfortunately it seems to be the in thing at the moment. :(
-
I put 'dislike' as IMO it really misses the feel of the original song, without replacing it with another feeling / emotion. A bit dry

Amen... Just makes me think of irritating vegan girls with hairy armpits who enjoy bulimia and watching donnie darko alone.
Piss off.

Speaking of adverts, one that really gets my goat at the moment is the new Ferrero Rocher one:
"A long time ago in an ancient time"

 Agreed. Annoying.

Is this the piano version of the song thats been on some advert recently?

Afghan Dave, that's the quote of the year for me!
The Stepbrothers version of Sweet Child O Mine is Ace.
-
Thank you...
-
die die die
Is that too harsh? :)
-
I don't like it.

That's my target market! If they're ginger, even better.
-
Hmmm...
I'd like to say that I'd split the camp somewhat, if it weren't for the overwhelming negativity!!!
;)
Three people in the "like" camp, so it's not all bad.
Afghan, you're a poet.

I don't mind it, but I like it far more than the original.
[/predictability]

I hear this on the radio 2 weeks ago and hit the mute button after 10 seconds.
I don't like the whiny vocals. They sound awful.
Has any one heard of Paloma Faith? She is a lot better female vocalist. Does a bit of the Burlesque too!
-
Yes Paloma is indeed a total darling. Since Amy Winehouse there's been a positive shift in the quality of female vocalists and she's one of the best.
-
bits of it remind me of coldplay, seems a bit flat and lifeless to me
-
I think the song is ok....what I hear of it, my dog loves it and begins to howl every time it's played. Sadly we rarely share the same musical tastes, he's more into Ernie K Doe, Kim Carnes and Doris Day.
-
ya know,
To be honest the lyrics to Sweet Child would actually fit perfectly for a folk song..."she's got eyes of the bluest skies and if they thought of rain, I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain, her hair reminds of a warm safe place where as a child i'd hide, and pray to the thunder, and the rain to quietly pass me bye"
I think the real problem is with this cover is she's playing everything way to note for note, had she changed up the arrangement a little bit more probably would've been alot better.

No... She sounds like miserable whiny cow... END OF.

Harsh.... but entirely fair.

Harsh, but... well... harsh.
