Should've been xmas no.1! :D
-
we need time to organise a facebook group next year :)

Well, the X Factor fans couldn't complain it lacks a "Christmas message"!
Merry Christmas gwEm, and God bless us, every one. If he's up there.

Better not let Mrs R hear this - she would acknowledge the sentiments expressed, but would feel that there was a slight lack in the peace and goodwill department... and I think she quite likes the Bing and David version  (I, on the other hand, remember that version clearly on the telly when it came out, and even though I was but a young naive chap, I could tell it was utterly utterly cringe-worthy).
I have to admit I was listening on my laptop speakers - but I was hard-pressed to hear any telecaster tones...
Merry Christmas :D

Rarely have two men looked less comfortable in each other's company.
I'm sure Bing was convinced the Thin White One was one of those darned homo-sexualists.

I deleted a load of waffle from my post about that... it wasn't just me then? I did wonder whether it was memory playing tricks on me... But I do seem to recall was a real look of "who the f*ck is this David Bowie person they've put me with? Is he related to the guy that died at the Alamo?? What am I doing here? Has Bob Hope played some hideous trick on me?"
And young David didn't look that comfortable either... at least he'd have known who the other guy was!

gwEm that is really impressive, loved it. Stick some pics on it and YouTube it quick.
-
Lovely stuff! Enjoyed that :)

Good stuff gwEm. Not really my style but I do like it, it made me smile. I imagine Bing would have loved it, bless him.
Actually, I think gwEm sitting at the piano cronning this version, with Bing, would have been much better than Bowie.
-
Yeah, I saw the Bing and David video on the tele last night - it was as @rse as I remember... yours is much better gwem - might have confused Mr Crosby even more than having to stand next to Mr Bowie though... :D
And! Relief of reliefs: Mrs R does not like the Bing/David version, and agrees with us Philly!

:)
i'm pleased to see some nice comments here! its true the guitar part is quite low in the mix, just to add a bit of texture. i've seen the bing/bowie version when making my one, and they both look embarrassed to be there

To be fair, it is a bit better when you don't have to see it!
