"Sir Denis"? Have you got a third band now?
-
Mainly this or a beat up JTM45 reissue

I so want a Cornford :D
-
Here's and old and pretty messy pic of my Musicman HD-130 and my Godin LG. You can see a few pedals as well and a lot of junk scattered around :D
-
I want that Black Beauty. My rig.73 Hiwatt PA100.73 Tele with Blackguards and 93 Hamer FM special . (http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii98/marantz1300/100_1341.jpg)

I have a 1976 Mashall JMP50 Master Volume that I modded to JCM800 master volume specs with two Mesa Boogie Theile cabs for recording
For pissing about I use a Marshall Lead 12 practise combo I've lightly modded.
Live I take a SansAmp British character pedal.

Yep - it's the DC boys "alter ego" cover band ;)
-
This is the nicest pic I have of my amp/cab. Laney GH50L, Tube-Town British 2x12 with G12H30s in it :) Had the amp just over 3 years now and still loving it. Theres been times where I considered changing it but so glad I didn't as it always delivers!

Don't have that guitar any more though.
The preamp valves desperately need changing in the amp as they're still the original TADs, got any suggestions? Was gonna get Ei Elites but cant seem to find em anywhere in the uk any more.

Ei are cool (I have some NOS of theirs) but can be fizzy and toppy. They have high output though and are quite reliable.
Unless you wanna spend a bit in experimenting around a lot, I would go with the safe bet and get what is in there now.

This is an old pic of my amps:

I no longer have the Marshall practice amp as I donated it to someone that was starting out playing and didn't have an amp, and I've added a Roland Micro Cube RX for my own home messing about :D
My rack (Marshall Pre and Power amp, TC Electronics G-Major and Samon Power Conditioner) isn't in the pic but as I'm now sellign it all, I didn't see much point getting new pics with it shown

Tom - you can't go wrong with JJs, the Gold Pins if you're feeling a little flush.
-
Live I take a SansAmp British character pedal.
How is that working out for you? Are they convincing enough? Better/worse than GT2? I'm using multi fx modellers at the moment but might go the analog stomp modeller way. I'm getting a Tech 21 Power Engine 60 soon too.

It works out well. I think it sounds more convincing than the GT2, but obviously you can only get a Marshall tone out of the character. Sansamps always sound a bit Sansamp-y, but I happen to like this.

Preapare to be underwhelmed !
The outboard Reverb is not usually needed , but there just in case. I also have an I.S.P Decimator if required. It is usually just the pictured guitar, amp - and yellow duster . :)

My rig is as pictured below, plus a power distributer, powered PA speaker, and midimate floorboard. I overestimated the number of rack slots I'd need ;)

Well I'm currently using a Diezel Einstein combo and I have to say that it is utterly utterly amazing. (I would say that of course) 8)

Oh sweet, a Fractal!!! Ive always heard great things about this, how does it do for direct recording?
-
lovely jubbly

Here's mine - Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 head with Mesa 2x12 Roadster cab. Effects are pretty minimal - just an Xotic BB Preamp, Ducan TwinTube Mayhem distortion and a Dunlop Zakk Wylde wah.

was my main rig for 1 year (sold it due reliability issues) and my custom made explorer that is my fav guitar. Some 5150 stack and 93' gibson explorer on the way :).
-
lovely explorer there. A bit Hetfiled ish
-
I'm liking that Explorer too. Who built it?
-
http://www.myspace.com/lutherieguitares easiest way to answer. here you can see his creations. Its a friend of mine so I trusted him and offered to be his first customer for an electric model. Kinda collector if he becomes famous one day :D.
-
how is that N.O.S cab?
They have some cab i'd like to try that has a partition so its like having two 2x12 cabs stuck together into one 4x12.

the nos cab is warm, wide and very full sounding. Its also sounding pretty same wherever you step around your stack not like cheap cabs that sound awesome in front of them and just weak when you go some footsteps ahead. Also it works good with V30 but you can have it loaded with g12k, greenbacks, g12h, v30 or eminence tonker /governor.
They are inded built like accoustics with a separation inside. For info the cab on the picture is an oversized 2*12. Good stuff, solid built, good price used and ok price looking on high end brands (a nos 4*12 is around 1000 euros new against the same for mesa that is about 1200). I had a mesa 2*12 and a framus on the same head before the nos cab. The nos wins hand down, better projection, more open sounding, holds lows same as mesa but delivers good sounds on low volumes and the cleans are really good unless the mesa cab that made cleans sound really boomy and cold to my tastes.
